**Q: Is this really any benefit over just pricking with either a fork or a toothpick, or a skewer, or thick needle? (upholstery)**
A: Not really.  I would use a thick needle or toothpick.  I don't think a fork or skewer would be pointed enough not to cause a large tear in the casing

**Q: Could I use this to prick baked potatoes?**
A: No... For the love of all that is holy....... PLEASE do not use this on a potato. I used it for my potato and 3 days later I was hit by a bus. Haters will say it's unrelated.

**Q: This is neither a knife, or fork? What is it?**
A: It's for getting air bubbles out of sausages when making sausage.

**Q: Do you have to use this tool.on both sides of the sausage or brat or just one side before cooking?**
A: Poke them just on the air pockets
