The top of the box then is closed, holding the backpack in place. **Q: Does this backpack hold a fire 10 tablet?** A: I’m not sure how big that is, but I put iPad minis in my kids pack. I don’t think it would fit a full size iPad. It is a pretty small bag, but I managed to fit her favorite blanket and stuffed animal for the journey in the expanded mode. The flight attendants loved how cute it was with the tags & rank and want to get their own kiddo family members one too.My only complaints are that the bottle holder on the side is too small for any toddler sized cup to fit (or even water bottle), and the clip to secure the top of the bag isn’t adjustable, both things which would’ve been very helpful since we were traveling with only bare essentials for a weekend trip that also required me to pack heavy coats in my carry-on and taking up most of our allotted space on a small airplane. If we hadn’t been traveling during the winter, the space issue with her backpack wouldn’t have been such a concern.
