I would suggest taking a sample piece of mdf and try tapping something like a paneling nail into it and see how the mdf holds up… if there is no breaking or crumbling, you may be good to go…if not, they are returnable. I love these! Good luck! **Q: I'd like dimensions of the spiked ends I have a window detail that it will not be able to be flush on and want to know if i can seed both prong?** A: I believe that you can seed the prongs, give it try.
