The design of the lid does reduce litter tracking, but I wish the lid were thicker and more substantial. My cats are average size/weight, and the brief moment they're entering or exiting the litter box causes the lid to sag downward. I haven't had the unfortunate collapse of the lid into the box, but I'm afraid it's inevitable. There are no "gutters" made into the bottom of the litter box, so cleaning/scooping is quick and simple.
