It picks up animals and humans through motion detector very well. Notification comes through when you leave or enter the premises , this is cheap and great little thing to have even if your out and about and wanna check up on the house or a certain room , event or pets . It have voice recording and microphone so you can speak both ways ! Day time mode is very good. The night colour mode delivers less clarity than when operating in B/W in low light. As the camera is mounted inside looking out, I purchased an additional IR light and mounted it elsewhere to stop “white out” reflections in the window caused by the built in IR. Remote access is excellent, including viewing live and recorded footage, and operating the camera to change view. As well as keeping an eye on the car, I can pan and tilt the camera to see inside my lounge to check the dog, and then use the memory function to auto realign the camera. The auto detect is versatile in how you set it up for visuals and sounds.
