Anyone know for sure?** A: Box says, “Made from 100% soft silicone”. **Q: Do i have to take it of during shower ?** A: I don't always take the tape off when I shower. If the edges are curling or I've had it on for several days, then I do. **Q: Would this help smooth out wrinkles?** A: I really doubt it! Our Doctor recommended this tape to minimize scaring. For us it definitely worked. As always check with your doctor to see if this is right for you. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sticks to dry skin, not so good in shower, protects against fabric rubbing. Re-attach? not so good. *by on Reviewed in the United States June 15, 2026* Bought this at my doctor's recommendation following hip replacement surgery. Started using it 2 1/2 weeks out after surgery when the real post-op outpatient physical therapy began. The tape stays stuck as long as my skin stays dry. It is not impervious to water so it loosens in the shower. I tried to dry it the first time but the adhesive kept sticking to my fingers and got the tape all tangled and messed up so I tossed it out and cut a new strip. It doesn't help that the scar is in a hard to reach spot. I really like that the tape prevents my clothing from rubbing the incision and cushions it from accidental bumps. I prefer to change it daily (yeah it costs more that way) so I can shower and keep the scar clean. The 1 inch tape is a little thin for the long ropey scar so I will try the 1.6 inch tape next time. I only plan on using the tape until the wound is no longer tender (about 90 days).
