Outstanding HVAC Meter!
Update: 21 Jan 2018The meter is still functioning properly but after extended use I now have a complaint. The inrush feature doesn’t seem to work properly and the inrush button location makes it really easy to hit accidentally. Maybe I’m doing something wrong but with inrush, it just doesn’t seem to work properly. My Fluke works flawlessly every time. When I accidentally hit the inrush button I have to turn off the meter to exit that feature. Aside from these two things I still love and use this meter everyday.I purchased this meter because the Fluke 376FC amp clamp I'd been using, which is also a fantastic meter really wasn't designed for the HVAC trade. Everybody, at work carried a Fieldpiece meter and I get it now. I envied how they could quickly stow their probes toss the meter in the bag and roll out, while I had to remove and roll up my leads, then fit them just right in my Veto TP4 then finesse the meter in. I also was impressed how they could easily grab any wire they wanted, then swivel the head so they could read the meter. Expensive lesson learned, the Fluke is now a backup meter to the SC660.The Fieldpiece SC660 is simply fantastic, I love how the meter beeps and flashes a red light when it reads voltage, it has a built in None Contact Voltage setting that works very well. I love the built in probe and Magnet holder. The magnet holder is also removable, but I don't know why anybody would want to. When your on the roof of a business working on package units, being able to stick this meter to the unit is awesome. The magnet strap has two magnets in it. Performing amp draw checks with this meter is a dream compared to the Fluke, the wire separator on the right side of the clamp makes it easy to find and grab the wire you need without having to use both hands. The built in LED light and the probe holder on the clamp, is genius! I love how the amp clamp swivels so I no longer have to contort myself to see the reading. I haven't used any of the wireless features yet, but I fully intend to. The Fluke had built in Bluetooth which connected directly to my Iphone. it ended up being a neat feature that never got used. The SC660 has the ability to do this if you purchase the Job Link gizmo. The SC660 is a fairly larger meter, it's an inch taller than the Fluke. I kept the Fluke in the front compartment of my Veto TP4 along with it's leads. The SC660 would fit but it was just too tall, so I decided to keep it in it's blue bag and have it attached to the shoulder strap of my TP4. Easy to pull out, use, and stow when I'm done. If size is a concern for you here's the dimensions of the meter: 11 3/8" Tall, 2 1/2" wide at the body, and 2" thick. Also, the meter takes one 9v battery. The SC660 is substantial, the fit-n-finish is flawless, and it appears to be built like a tank. I think Fieldpiece had done an amazing job with this design. So far I've no complaints and it's performed flawlessly. If your headed into or are already in the HVAC trade the SC660 is a great tool to have in your inventory it truly does it all. Yep, it's not cheap, but it's worth every penny to me. Nice job Fieldpiece!

but this meter has some amazing qualities, I really like that it can light ...
I thought the swivel aspect of this would be kinda silly, but this meter has some amazing qualities, I really like that it can light up and has a flashlight on the clamp. Swiveling makes it easy to get readings and actually see the meter from nearly any angle. Definitely pleased with this purchase.

Awesome meter
Had the sc57 which was a great meter but didn't measure dcmv. The sc660 was to place it in my everyday bag and the sc57 went to the AC bag. This meter has met and exceeded all my expectations so far. Had done everything I wanted and more. Highly recommend it to anyone/everyone. Awesome meter for novice to experts

Continues to stumble over itself.
Decent meter, but really not sure why it was designed to be this length, seems unnecessary. My biggest complaint with fieldpiece design is that everything seems in the way of itself. Testing amps? Unwind cables out of the clamp. Temp? Disconnect the leads and watch em dangle. Looking for voltage or ohms? Reconnect the stuff you disconnected and disconnect the ktype... as much as i like the all in one, i spend more time winding, unwinding, putting stuff away, picking my leads back up off the ground, etc than I do actually operating or taking readings. Also, the auto-off feature is terrible as it has to be toggled manually every time device is operated. I like the magnetic strap, I like the swivel head, I like the durability and its accuracy. Some of the features, and staples of fieldpiece are real head scratchers though. I mean why have they not given me a way to clip this to my belt or hang from a d-ring yet(minus the magnetic strap... which on a twelve inch meter will bounce against the back of your knees or get locked up on a caged ladder while climbing.) I will look for other options my next meter next time. This is my third field piece (420, 33, now this) and it just seems like they continue to design things in a way to always get in its own way.

Really Fieldpiece???!!!??
Seems like a decent meter. I’ve always been a Fluke guy mainly because I didn’t like the design of them, (long body, swivel head, etc.).However, I’m “all in” in the Job Link because of my Smans (which I do love), so I want to provide electrical reading in my reports, so I jumped on to this SC660. Overall i huess it’s a decent meter, I like the dual readout of Amps and Volts, the light up dial is pretty cool too.For the life of me though I cannot figure out why the give you alligator clips that are essentially 3” long on a meter that’s like 12” long!! It takes the dual reading right out of the game if you want to monitor compressor amps and voltage at the same time because of the lenght of the body in relation to the clamp head.To me, for a $300-$400 meter, your Flagship meter at that, skimping on those leads is simply silly. Especially, when you know most people who buy this meter will be using it’s wireless features for system monitoring.I’ll update as I use this meter more, but I can't give 5stars because skimping on the length of those leads is ridiculous and almost a deal breaker for system monitoring, (unless of course you want to spend MORE money on longer ones).

Reads voltage in the air up to 240v, not reliable, safety issue.
The media could not be loaded. I love the idea of a one arrow quiver - phase rotation, temperature, etc. but when the meter reads up to 240v in the air, it makes it hard to trouble shoot anything. The meter is worthless and a life safety issue. AVOID!!! I emailed product support and it is a known issue. They said they would replace it with an SC640 and then later told me to send it in for repair.... not sure who has time to wait for a meter to be repaired, pay for shipping both ways, etc. Not impressed Fieldpiece. Back to Fluke.
