Material is top notch, issues with layout and typos
This is the 2nd book I've bought from Mr. Lammle. I do think he does an excellent job explaining all of the CCENT/CCNA concepts in a way that's not too dry and dull, like the Cisco press books are. My main issue with this one is the layout and the errors/typos. The diagrams and figures are organized horribly, in that the text that refers to a particular figure is not right below or above it. Sometimes its on the next page, a few times it's a page and half away. Might not be a big deal to some, but for me it was annoying to go back and forth between the text and the figure and having to turn a page to do so. I also didn't like how they moved all of the answers to the written labs and chapter review questions to the appendix in the back of the book. An older version of the book I had put the answers on the last page of the chapter, which made it easier to check your answers. Also, there are quite a few typos and errors in the printing that I received(you can see all of them in the "errata" on the Sybex website). Most are minor, but there was one exhibit/diagram that was completely missing from a written lab question in chapter 1. That is unacceptable.

Great Study book for CCENT, also has free downloadable simulator for IOS practice.
These are the materials I have been using for CCENT & CCNA training.1st, the CBTnuggets.com video courses. Also use the ..."CCENT/CCNA ICND1 100-101 Official Cert Guide"..byWendell Odom, and its parallel related simulator..."CCENT ICND1 100-101 Network Simulator" - by Wendell Odom. Also this...."CCENT Study Guide: Exam 100-101 (ICND1)" ...by... Todd Lammle,It has a way to download it's related simulator in the back of its book.I use them to follow along with the CBTnuggets videos too.The simulators for both books EXACTLY match the chapters in their respective books! IT'S GREAT!

CCENT kindle - for searching
Several people have mentioned that Todd's books are easier reading and simpler to understand. While reading various post on this book and kindle version saw author actually responding to some of the post. Todd even responded to a couple of my questions so I decided to get both Kindle and book. Kindle for searching. Book for actual studying. Where else can one get so much information for $42.Normally I get Ciscopress by Windell Odem only. Todd recommend getting two sources to read from so I'll start with his book then check out / cross reference with Wendell's version. Thanks Todd for feedback what do you need to send me extra goodies mentioned in another thread.I'm going to go through Wireshark 101 and these CCENT books and possibly get Boson Netsim 9 and Exsim.

Kindle version of the study guide
Very good book. I do not have a hard copy version to compare it to but the book is well written.Aside from some editing errors, and seemingly sacrificing the additional test and practice material, this is an excellent buy.

Gold in the form of paper!
This book is absolutely worth its weight in gold. The author clearly and thoroughly covers all the ICND1 objectives, i know so because i read this book and passed my exam. Also the author makes the learning a fun experience with tons of hands on labs, questions, and written assignments. Ill defiantly be purchasing the ICND2 book from Todd, thanks again!

Great book, but arrived used.
Great book, It's a shame it's been marked in already. I'm not sure whether I should return it or what, but it's difficult to study when some of the questions have been answer already.

Perfect Study Guide
If the instructor is to be believed this is the guide that Cisco recommends to use in pursuing your CCENT. I have recommended it to many other students and am looking to take the ICDN1, which this preps you for, towards the end of March 2014. I will update after the exam on how accurate this book.

Great book!!!
I am very excited about the depth and extreme help that this book is providing for me. I am currently in the process of reading this book and there is no doubt that after finishing the reading I will be able to pass the exam and get started on my Networking career.Sterling Ward

Brilliant!
I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but this book was the exception. I usually have a pretty short attention span with these self study guides, but I must say the author does a brilliant job at captivating the reader - and does what I find many authors of these kind of guides can't do - make it interesting! I am around three-quarters of the way through and looking forward to the rest. The author does provide a simulator (of which make sure to follow link here if you download the ebook: [...]), although I would strongly recommend using PacketTracer.
