The beam adjusts from quite narrow to pretty wide, giving you a lot of flexibility. Use it with a scope mounted on a rifle or with digital NV goggles or a monocular. Gives digital NV a whole new dimension. Bring 940nm is a plus, too, since it is less visible to critters. The only drawback I see is the fact that it is slightly loose where the outer barrel rotates over the main body to adjust the beam, but a wrap or two of electrical tape seems to help. Other torches I’ve used that had a similar issue actually had grooves for o-rings, which tightened them up nicely.
