I am tickled that it fit, because I altered the mattress itself. Since I have dogs, they chewed up the corners. So I put a 4-in foam at the bottom of the futon mattress and a 4-in foam on top of the futon mattress. I also added a mattress protector to protect the foam. Then I put this full size futon mattress cover on top. I love how it's so soft and hopefully the dogs will not be able to put holes in it with their claws. Time will tell.
