After receiving a replacement and using it for the past 3+months here is my findings.
As a grinder, it worked very well. The grind was great and the coffee was really good. As a product, not so much. The clear plastic hopper for the coffee beans has completely broken off from the threaded portion that screws into the main body of the grinder. I mean it snapped right off. I had coffee beans all over the counter in the kitchen. You might want to rethink this grinder and choose another one.In an age where customer service is just something that is paid not more than lip service, an associate of Gourmia reached out to me over a year later to to try to make things right. No excuses, no smoke and mirrors, just an honest effort to satisfy a customer who had a bad experience. I know products made by humans can sometimes be less than perfect and that I understand. The associate explained that the grinder I received was just probably an anomaly and it can happen. An offer to replace the grinder was accepted and I will use the new grinder and submit a new review based on my experience with the replacement. Kudos to Gourmia for understanding the true meaning of "Customer service" and practicing a lost art. Three stars fo the extra effort. The new unit performed better than I expected and better than the unit I previously used which has seen no use since I received the new grinder from Gourmia. It has ground the coffee as advertised and has done it with very little effort which I can't cay about my old grinder. The motor seems to be more powerful. There are no stoppages or clogs in the feeding and the grind is as advertised. The only recommendation would be to put some kind of lip on the cover of the coffee bin. It is a real pain in the ass to get off. I used apiece of double sided tape to attach a fitting to make it easier to remove to add coffee. If that is the only thing on this produce I can find to complain about my opinion is it is worth every penny and I will not deduct a star for my nitpicking. Thank you for the opportunity to review a new product. Anything made by humans has the chance to fail. Call it a lemon or whatever. My original was a fluke and Gourmia made it right. Well done. Defective design, not worth it!
After only a few months using it just once a day for one serving, the cup where the grounds go into now comes loose from the main section during grinding, causing the grounds to shoot all over the place - even if you keep it perfectly clean, the cup just doesn't stay secure enough during grinding - the grinding vibrates the whole machine hard, and the cup is just too light and flimsy to stay connected, it vibrates right off the connection, then you have grounds to clean up and you have to restart the process - you have to hold it together with both hands, which wouldn't be a big deal if it wasn't so loud - the grinding is so loud that it actually hurts your ears - I used to press the grind button then walk out of the room or hold my ears until it was done, now I have to stand right in front of it since I have to hold it during grinding - I tried putting the cup up against the wall during grinding, but the machine is so light it just vibrated away from the wall, cup came loose, grounds shot everywhere... I'm going to try duct tape, which will look stupid and I'll have to undo every use... definitely not worth the hassle - a more sturdy design is worth extra cost - get what you for pay for... p.s. I just read all the same complaints after posting this (too loud, have to hold it together, flimsy cup that is a pain to put together, messy - I forgot about the extremely bright LED light, I have to unplug it after use otherwise it actually hurts your eyes to look at the light), wish I read them before buying - I'm sure the positive reviewers wrote their reviews prematurely, before it fell apart...

Great Job Grinding Coffee but Hopper is Awkward to User
The Gourmia Coffee Bean Grinder does a great job grinding coffee. The coffee maker grinds quickly and is extremely easy to use. The top can store a lot of beans and it is very easy to fill. You can adjust the settings for the amount of beans to grind and the coarseness of the grind. It has a very bright blue light in the front, which is so bright it can act as a night light or make it easy to spot in a dark kitchen in the morning. I have two complaints: The first, after grinding the beans, the Hopper (ground coffee collection device), is a little tricky to replace after you have poured out the beans. You need to set the top on just right, and lline it up exactly in the right place to attach it back to the coffee maker. I think the hopper's plastic parts are not made of very strong plastic, and could easily break if dropped or not inserted into the grinder carefully. Second, I also think it is hard to see the setting of the dial that controls the amount of beans to grind, unless you are standing directly in front of the grinder. Overall, I really like how it grinds the beans and its ease of use but the hopper design can use a little improvement. Based on other grinders that I saw, I believe that it is a good value for the money spent.

It works well but....
Overall I would say I would buy this again. My main negative aspect of the unit is the clear side container; first, you have to ensure that you have it seated correctly otherwise it will easily pop out (FYI this will mean you are cleaning off your entire countertop) second once it is finished grinding each time you remove it from the grinder you will again make a mess and finally when you pout the ground coffee the top portion removes fairly easily but again the process of separating the two makes a mess. The selector for the type of grind is placed in an awkward location, you will easily move it (sometimes without being aware) just by moving the unit. It is really loud, granted given what it is you would expect a certain amount of noise but having had similar units (e.g., same price range) I found others were not nearly as loud.Other than the mess, certainly worth the money but a few design tweaks would certainly make this a better.

Excellent grinder. Easy to use and the price is great for a burr grinder
I love my grinder.1. It doesn't take up too much counter space, it's great for a condo.2. It's a burr grinder which are normally costs much more3. It looks good and my coffee tastes great

The good and the not so good
The good: The style of the unit is good and the size is small enough to sit on the counter. The grind is consistence and the bean hopper has good design with large opening for bean to drop. The not so good: The power LED is on as long as power to it but it is way too bright just sitting on the counter. You will end up unplugging the power. For my espresso press, the finest setting is not fine enough for machine. But for most other coffee maker, I think it would be good enough. The output hopper looks nice but when in use, the opening is too small for a scope. You will have to use a small spoon to get the coffee grind out. If you use a drip filter then you can just dumps it out of course but a press is a different story. Also there is not cleaning kit or spoon or scope that come with the unit. This is not a big thing but whoever deign it, for some reason the power light, button and the amount adjuster is in one direction (front) but the grind setting is on the side from top. Therefore you can not tell all the setting at a glance but have to look and check. The Ad say the unit comes with big steel burr plates. It does not! same size as all other small or home burr grinder. The interchangeable bigger burr plate are used mostly in commercial units only. The bottom plate that fix to the motor are not user changeable. I have yet to find one that can.Overall, the unit function well and look stylish. But only time will tell how it would stack up. All other burr grinder I have try at this price range did not last from daily use. Will see how this one do.

Arrived with the black bottom part of the coffee container already detached from the clear walls
It arrived with the bottom of the coffee container already broken. Initially I thought it was just a strange design choice because it arrived like that, but I'm seeing that other people are complaining about the bottom part breaking.
