I’m all for safety, but this trainers mechanism is a small strip of metal that can connect the two handles and prevent the blade from coming out accidentally. Problem is, it’s loud/sqeaky and will get in the way of your tricks. Since it is just swinging there freely, while the blade is in motion it will sometimes swing back and get in the way of the handles closing as shown in the second picture.
