Better Homes and Gardens Wood Arm Futon with 8-Inch Coil Mattress, Oatmeal Linen

This came much faster than was estimated or expected. The box is heavy and large so a bit tricky for one person to lift and transport in an apartment building. The assembly was simple and relatively quick. Though the frame was unscratched, a touch-up marker came in the package which is a nice thought. The oatmeal linen hue looks better in person though I am covering it for protection. In the couch setting this is comfortable and easily accommodates 3-4 people. The mattress compresses but remains firm. The full size allows for head support of taller people in the couch position which is a nice feature. The frame opens up to become the bed ridiculously easily. The bed is comfortable if one likes medium to firm support. The arms are minimal and low so they don't provide any manner of headboard but they also don't impede foot space. I have yet to measure but it feels maybe an inch shorter than a regular full sized mattress. Things not included that you will need: pads/feet if on a hard floor, lubricant for the transition from bed back to couch, and non-slip grip mat for between the mattress and the frame. It is way, way harder to get this back to couch position. In my household it can be done by one person with misery or two people with discomfort. It does get easier with more use. The grip pad is necessary because the built-in brace which secures the mattress in couch position is not present on the other side for bed position. Lastly, I have added a gel memory foam topper. I was weary of any mattress less than 10" thick but the price was excellent so I went for it. I'd be okay without the topper since firm is better for my back... and after one night of adjusting I found it to be comfortable. But with the foam topper and other necessary accessories the price is still excellent and this is a valuable piece to have. The only true drawback to me besides returning this to couch from bed is that there is a touch of creaking with some movements in the bed position.

Great product for the price.I initially was looking for a queen size futon but after thinking it was too large as a couch we decided this was the best bang for the buck.Getting both the futon and the mattress in one package is always better than buying each separately. But this also means the package is around 8x3 ft. And weighs over 100 lbs, so be sure to be ready for some heavy lifting once the package arrives.Assembly was fairly easy took me about 1.5 hours, and the directions are easy to follow. All tools are provided in package.My guests said the mattress was very comfortable to sleep on, and they were two adults sleeping on it for a week. Not too soft, not too firm.The couch function isn’t aesthetically appealing but it’s also comfortable. Does the job for a futon.All in all good value

I love this couch...really....but honestly!! Within the first week of very light use, one of the buttons popped out of the mattress...which just really throws it off balance. So....we spent the next hour trying to get the button back in which involved threading a string all the way through the mattress to the other side...which is near impossible unless you attach said string to a pencil and force it through to the other end (which is a headache). You'll be lucky if one of the outer buttons pops off because the next day, a button near the middle of the mattress just popped right on out, and there is NO way to fix that. So....how are we supposed to return this massive mattress? We would have to deconstruct the whole thing and load it back into the massive box just to get another sub-par poorly designed mattress. So now....within one week, we are stuck with a frumpy looking mattress. On the bright side, the color is excellent and we've slept on it for the past week because it is more comfortable than our own bed.

quality is really cheap in the mattress, only 2 weeks old and already 2 buttons have come off and also the mattress is flattened on the one side from where ive sat in it. Such a terrable waste of money

We bought 2 of these to use a sofas. They are incredibly comfortable for sleeping. Only issues...one has incorrect predrilled holes...causing it to tip very easy. While the other looks as though it lays more centered. I tried to email the company and have yet to receive any feedback.

Just received two days ago. Husband had a helper to assemble, but it didn't take them very long. I was not expecting such a big beauty! Yes, it showed the dimensions, but put together this futon is impressive. I love the neutral colors and I have decided to redo my entire den! That's how pleased I am so far. As to whether it will hold up or not, time will tell, but I expect it will as it is certainly sturdy and comfortable. My husband, two dogs, a cat, and I really enjoy it. (Smiling)

This is an amazing futon. It's very comfortable the mattress is very nice!! It's also very heavy!! And built really nice. I bought this because a I have cats that ruined my couch. I put a high quality waterproof mattress protector and a futon zip cover over it and if their is a spill or accident I don't have to worry about my couch being ruined. It also is a perfect height off the ground unlike a lot of futons that are really close to the ground this one is the same height as a couch would be!
