Switched from a traditional mic stand to this, and it's so much better! I have the mic arm clamped to the side of my desk. It stretches across the bottom of my second monitor so the mic sits below my camera when not in use. Then, when I need it, I can just pull it toward me, tip the mic up toward my face, and I'm ready to go.It's well made, and heavier than I expected, which is good. Attaching the mic and threading the mic cord through the arm was also easy. The top side of the arm pieces are magnetic, so you just take them off, stick the cord inside, and pop them back on — and the magnets are really strong. Overall the look is very clean. I did add one black zip tie at the top to keep the cord from ticking out.Over time, I have found that even though I tighten the arm to hold the position, it slowly starts to sag and I have to re-adjust and tighten it all again.
