Nail Clarifying Basecoat for Toenails and Fingernails, 0.5 oz

So let me start off by saying I’ve had a toenail fungus on almost all my toenails for quite a few years. Apparently we had some kind of crazy fungus/ bacteria in our pool one year and that’s how it all started! Needless to say I’ve tried several different products over the years all promising to get rid of the fungus. Some helped a little, some didn’t help at all. I’m guessing the products that helped a little just weren’t strong enough to help it all the way. So, eventually I’m always back to square one. Very frustrating! I’m a big flip flop girl and since the nasty fungus reared it’s nasty head.. I have been too embarrassed to wear ANY open toe shoe. Not only were my nails discolored... but crazy thick and crumbling on some. Not a pretty sight! I’ve always painted my toenails year round and haven’t done so in a few years because I couldn’t. The polish never looked right and it was obvious I was covering a fungus! So with all that being said... I decided to look for fungus medicine here on Amazon. As I stated before all the products “ promised “ to kill the fungus.. so when I stumbled upon this.. it promised to kill the keratin build up which is what the actual fungus feeds off of. No build up equals no fungus. I checked all the reviews for this not only here on Amazon but all over online.. and as with most products regarding fungus it was 50/50. Everyone responds different to products and I took that in to account but decided to purchase it anyway. The thing that drew me in was.. I could paint my toenails again! I followed the instructions and I’ve been using this since the beginning of February and I must say WOW! I don’t have the bottle in front of me, but I believe you’re supposed to after brushing this on and it dries to use a base coat then 2 coats of your polish. After 1-2 weeks or whenever you change polish.. take off and start over. After 3-4 weeks begin scraping under your nails and pull out loose debris. And honest to God it worked!! My polish stayed on for 3-4 weeks before I actually took it off and began lightly scraping. The stuff I pulled out was amazing! Smelled horrible but was amazing that all this came out from under my toenails. What I did initially when I started was took a thick nail file and lightly buffed my nails.. then I washed them and applied the solution. It doesn’t smell great, all I really smell is vinegar to be honest. It takes a bit to fully dry but definitely worth the wait. My nails aren’t crazy looking anymore, I mean I’m not at the point where I would go polish free but they look and feel better then they have in years. I can see where the fungus is growing out and I can see a little bit of a healthy toenail. Some of the other nails were really thick and odd shaped.. those are flatter and smoother. I’ve only used this 3 times since I received it in February. I don’t follow the instructions to a tee.. because I don’t remove my polish until it starts chipping and that takes about 3-4 weeks before that starts happening. Bottom line is: IT WORKED! I couldn’t be happier! When you deal with a fungus for many years.. you’re always going to be skeptical about buying products to help it because everyone promises but seldom delivers. This product is awesome. I HIGHLY recommend! If you have a stubborn fungus that refuses to go away.. give this a try before trying a product that promises to kill the fungus... try this that kills the keratin build up. You’re basically killing it’s food source! Hopefully you’ll be as happy as I am with the results!

I got this five years ago on the recommendation of my doctor. I was very disappointed that she wouldn’t prescribe me the pills, but she’s an amazing doctor, so I just grumbled internally after she said no the second time and came home and ordered this.I was, of course, really sad that it takes so long for the toenail to grow out in order to see a difference, but it takes what it takes.It really worked for me—sorry no pics—NO WAY am I posting pics of my affected toenails!!My only regret is that I didn’t keep using it even though I kept going to nail salons. Because five years later, I picked up a fungus again!!So I’ve transitioned to their other product: NonyX Nail Gel Fungal Nail Clarifying Gel 4 oz bottle. I just purchased that product and I’m requesting my nail technician to apply it for me. I’m not as flexible as I used to be five years ago, so I am not sure I’ll be able to teach my toes to treat them anymore.

Not sure how effective it is when you put nail polish on it and leave the polish on for a week or so. The fungus started creeping in again, UGH!

So the toes with the least amount of issues healed pretty complete. The ones that were in bad shape made huge progress over the course of probably 6mo, I forgot my purchase date. The bottle really lasts a long time, I still have some, and I use way more frequently than prescribed. Using this allowed me to take the really bad nails very close to the cuticle in effort to get healthy new nail growth. I'm using a cortical steroid and it's looking good.It didn't completely heal the worst nails but it made a heck of an improvement I must say.

So I should’ve taken a before pic, but this pic is after 3 applications (approx 9 wks). I’ve been fighting with nail fungus for 10 years, first on my big RT toe and then spread to other toes and even to my other foot. I saw a pediatrist about 9 yrs ago and none of his treatment, all topical, worked very well. The past year, my toes had been getting worse. I cover them in nail polish to hide the scaly yellow, slowly moving down each nail. I read the description of Nonyx and thought it was a genius idea to be able to use this as an undercoat and still hide my nails w/polish, but was very apprehensive. To my extremely happy surprise, my nail are looking wonderful after just three coats!! I don’t even have to be embarrassed about the bottle sitting around, because it says “nail clarifying” and nothing about fungus (thank you for that btw). I will continue to use this, even after my nail are back to normal, which I predict after approx 3 more treatments. This is not the best pic of my toes, but I would’ve never even shown my toes without nail polish before this treatment. Thank you Nonyx!!!!! Xo

Glad this worked for some people. I don't understand how, though.First, the brush was all stuck together so it was impossible to apply a smooth coat.Second, following the directions and applying my regular base coat on top of this product, then 2 color coats and a top coat, made for rather a mess (yes, I allowed each coat to dry before applying the next one).Third - 2 DAYS after my pedicure the polish just popped off the nail in one piece!I was a professional nail tech for 10 years & have done my own pedicures forever. They ALWAYS last at least 3 weeks.The product information states that it will wear off without at least a top coat. I don't understand how the product can be effective if it pops off after a couple of days.I've never had that happen before and I've used many different brands of polish, some better than others.This product may do what it claims but only if you want to constantly be touching up your polish - no thanks.

I have not noticed any difference
