Diagram of Features Since its foundation in 1930, CITIZEN has promoted a multi-cultural mindset that fosters excellence and creativity. The very name of the brand conveys a deep respect toward craftsmanship and considered as familiar by citizens the world-over. So as a “citizen” of the world, we bear the responsibility to help cultivate a culture of positive change and on-going evolution through our craft. We take that mission seriously and steadfastly welcome what the future may bring. As a true manufacture d’horlogerie, CITIZEN integrates a comprehensive manufacturing process from creating individual components to a watch’s final assembly. It’s an artisan’s approach to watch making based on pushing forward the boundaries of technology and leveraging our experience toward exploring new possibilities. One pivotal technological breakthrough was the development of a light-driven watch. CITIZEN pioneered this engineering innovation well ahead of other watch manufacturers as early as 1976, which led to the launch of the highly acclaimed Eco-Drive in 1995. Utilizing electrical power converted from virtually any light source, this extraordinary innovation changed forever the way watches could be powered. Eco-Drive eliminated the need to ever replace batteries, which made it especially beneficial to areas where such specialist batteries were not obtainable. This leveled the field for citizens of virtually every country to be able to experience unrestricted joy of wearing and using a CITIZEN watch. The product development policy, “The Fusion of Technology and Beauty,” remains a constant motivation for us to merge cutting-edge technology with perfection of design beauty, which as a consequence inspires people to strive to be their best at any time. CITIZEN launches a new campaign in collaboration with Wieden+Kennedy, Better Starts Now. This is the simple belief that no matter who you are or what you do, it is always possible to make something better — and now is the time to start doing it. We believe that better and now are both infinite, and that there is always a next ‘better’ and a new ‘now’ in which you can start pursuing it. It was clear from the onset of this project that we are dedicated to this ideal…not to the past but to the present, and all the way we can improve it. To help communicate this belief to the world we have created a new global CITIZEN brand movie, brand identity and brand website that represents out Better Starts Now philosophy.

Gorgeous watch!!!
I absolutely love this watch. Its every bit as high quality as any Swiss watch and because it's solar it never needs a battery. The clasp on the bracelet is made in such as way as to fit completely flush when latched. The contrast is perfect making the date and time easily legible and the crystal is double coated anti-reflective sapphire. The hands glow in the dark but the markers do not. I wish they had put a little dot of glow paint on the markers or included a dial light. Ok, maybe the dial light would be a bit tacky for a watch of this caliber. I'd also like to see them add atomic time keeping to this watch so that it will set itself automatically. Because it has a perpetual calendar it is a bit tricky to set. Once set you're good to go. Other notable missing features are an Alarm and an hourly time signal (chime). It does have a minute repeater function that is cool. Its fun to demonstrate that to my friends but I seldom use the feature. A lighted dial light is more practical though might be tacky. All in all I love this watch.

Cutting edge technology and handmade craftsmanship.
I spent months researching a good investment watch. I had intended to purchase an expensive mechanical. Then I started reading forum posts about the constant maintenance required and the unreliable nature of the breed. Then I kept running across references to The Citizen Ecodrive. I couldnt imagine buying a cheap watch for a collection. Then I found out just how truly amazing the technology that goes into one of these watches is. When I saw the Grand Complication Signature I knew I had found the watch I wanted. In 200 years when collectors are talking watches, the high priced mechanicals will be considered pretty to look at and good investments but the most sought after watches will be the Signature Series Ecodrives from this era. Why you ask? Because they were the very first of their kind and led the way into a solar powered future. Also because they are handmade, will likely still function and be very rare. Citizen is only making a few hundred of each style in the Signature Series per year and the Grand Complication Titanium has the lowest run of all. When I opened the box; I could not believe the quality. A masterpiece of engineering and craftsmanship. I love my new Citizen and am as proud to wear it as I would have been something 5 times the cost.

I bought my first Citizen Titanium watch in 1998 and fell in love with it - it was big but lighter than it looked. It was complicated to set the first time but was well worth it. After 17 years the gold has rubbed off in places but still works and looks good. I just wanted to replace it with a watch that was a little more stylish and I found that with the Grand Complication Titanium - beautiful time piece. The setup instruction is pretty straight forward and in the end the only confusion (which a few owners of similar watches had) was the red second hand was really not the second hand that I was use to, but the second hand for the chronograph function. Once that became clear I was able to share my love for my first Citizen Titanium with this new one. The Titanium of this watch looks almost like stainless but so much lighter in weight and the rose gold accents just makes it the best watch for the price. It just pops. I also bought the watch repair kit which I used to resize the band which was easy to do.

Interesting setting up
It looks and feels a well made watch. Being made of titanium is light as you would expect. A busy face which has to be set up follow the instructions carefully otherwise you will go around in circles. Adjusting the bracelet is easy it has pins and collars.

Sharp looking watch is lacking in features vs lower Eco Drive models
Received watch as a Christmas gift. I currently own a $500 E870 stainless steel running and never serviced for 15 yrs, and am a Citizen fan for dependability, durability and function. This Signature Collection is sharp looking, but it seems to be all flash and no substance. The stitched leather felt line case will go virtually unused, too big and doesn't allow recharging due to dark environment, went for a glass top, and the money could have gone elsewhere. Yes, the watch looks and feels fantastic. Light titanium led me to falsely believe that this was a counterfeit, but the high attention to detail of the lettering and numbers with no bleeding, the closer you look the more fine details you see. I kind of like the traditional second hand movement which on this watch is for the chronograph(stop watch). This G910 second hand movement is the small right dial that my 40 yr old eyes can't even see the numbers. Second gripe is the Tachymeter is in kilometers only... really who the hell needs this option on a dress watch, I'd rather have an alarm or a 2nd time zone save, which this does not have and the lower priced E870 does, big disappointment! Overall I won't return this because it was a gift, but for a Signature Series $1000+ price range falls short in function especially since this does not have the satellite wave technology. The Titanium and rose gold is a sharp professional look and does scratch, but feels almost weightless if you are used to big heavy stainless steel. I plan to use this watch maybe on weekends only. My daily will be my trusty E870. Citizen, you could have done better or forget the $200 box and put in an alarm or a normal second hand watch movement.

My Favorite Watch (Minute repeater video)
The media could not be loaded. Hi, I got this watch over six months ago and it was immediately the favorite one in my collection. Other reviewers are correct that it is not the most feature rich watch out there. Where this watch stands out is the incredible appearance and superb craftsmanship. The case, dial, bezel, and bracelet, I really, really like them all.The minute repeater function was a bit of a mystery before I got the watch. I'm attaching a video for those who wish to see it (actually hear it) in action. You'll note there are eleven initial beeps that represent the hour, followed by one beep of a different tone that represent a quarter hour, and finally twelve more beeps that represent individual minutes. Added all together you have 11 hours + 1 quarter hour + 12 minutes = 11:27 AM in this case.Best regards,John
