Setting it up and getting it to pair with my Droid Turbo phone was super easy and took about 30 seconds total
I received the AS-BT200 yesterday. I plugged it into the "Adaptor" port on the back of my Pioneer VSX-1020-K receiver. Setting it up and getting it to pair with my Droid Turbo phone was super easy and took about 30 seconds total. Right away I was able to stream audio from the phone to the receiver. I also paired it with my wife's Moto X phone just as easily. The device is Bluetooth so the range is limited to 30 feet. I found that I experienced no issues at all in the room where the receiver is located, and the signal only started to drop when I left the room and went around the corner behind the stairs. I was able to stream audio from upstairs down to the receiver though with no issues, so just keep in mind the 30 foot range inherent with Bluetooth. An excellent product and I am very happy with it!

3.5 / 5: Happy about the performance; definitely want to see the price go down.
I bought this as it was specified for the receiver we have and because Pioneer (like many other manufacturers) uses proprietary connections and software that render generic products incompatible. Since that has nothing to do with the actual use of, or performance of the device, I did not take away a superior rating because of it.***CONS***I did take away one star because it increases the depth of the receiver by a full two inches. The adapter plugs perpendicularly into the backplane of every Pioneer receiver it was designed for. My cabinet is deep enough to accommodate this, but I handmade the cabinet with things like this in mind. At over 16 inches deep, this receiver is by and far the deepest component in our entertainment center. It just seems like the adapter does not have to be so large if you look at any selection of PC USB Bluetooth adapters on the market. And I have yet to see something as simple as an extension cable for placing this adapter in a convenient location. Combine this nuisance with the going price (I know, nobody forced me to purchase it), and there's room for improvement before I feel it deserves a superior rating.***PROS***That being said - we do enjoy the adapter tremendously. It provides a very quick and easy way to stream media (that looks and sounds fantastic) from a phone or tablet to the receiver. It works without skipping a beat every time, and it does what it's designed to do. I can't deny it less than 4 stars in this respect.***BEFORE YOU BUY***THAT being said - I would recommend reviewing your setup before making this purchase, because there are other options to produce the same functionality for less money.-If your receiver is network ready and connected, Pioneer makes a great selection of apps called "iControlAV201X" (where "...201X" means "...2013" and earlier) that allow both Android and Apple device control. These apps have a "push player" that streams music (but not video) from the device's music library over your local area network (LAN). I can't find them on Amazon, but I know they are available in the Google Play Store. They are all FREE.-If your television has a spare HDMI port, there are more and more options coming to mainstream markets like ChromeCast:Google Chromecast HDMI Streaming Media Player This is only $35 and also works with both Android and Apple devices. These media players allow audio AND video media to be transferred from your phone or tablet, to the television (via LAN), and output from there to your receiver.***IN SUMMARY***The BT200 makes for easy media streaming and does it well, but with the availability of other (and often cheaper) alternatives, this product at this price is more of a convenient novelty than a "must have add-on." Please feel free to comment with questions and I'll reply as soon as practical.Cheers!

OK product
Functionality is good, I've had no issues with range or audio quality. My only beef with this product is the bluetooth pairing process. I have a Pioneer 5.1 Receiver and with my bluetooth device set to Discoverable, i switch the input to Adapter and have to press the setup button on the remote until it decides to go into the pairing menu, most of the time it will say "no device" and I have to repeat the input change until it picks it up.. not sure if im explaining this well but trust me it's annoying.once the device is paired, in my case i pair with my macbook or with my ipod touch, the audio quality is great. I have experienced no issues with range or signal choppiness when i move my ipod or laptop in any direction while it's paired.

Functions perfectly!
Just to clarify as reviews here appear to be lumped together, This device was purchased to be osed on a Pioneer VSX-1121k WITH an LG VX11000 also known as an EnV Touch with the intention of being able to play music stored on the phone through the receiver. After plugging in the AS-BT200 to the back of the receiver(with the power off) and selecting the function on the remote, the receiver was waiting for the device(Bluetooth connection) to be made. The device(phone) first had to be paired to the AS-BT200 which was so easy using auto pairing it took about 15 seconds. In the Bluetooth menu on the phone, the AS-BT200 was selected and that was it. The sound quality was better than expected, as was the range. I had no interference from anything. PLEASE NOTE....I can only attest to the AS-BT200 for the listed devices I myself used it on, and not for anything else. This is only an attempt for someone who may want to use one in a similar manner. For my particular use, I salute Pioneer on a fine product, as well as Amazon for carrying it. I could not be more satisfied.

Works well but no range.
Disclaimer: This rating is more of a reflection on the technology than the device itself, actually.I was well aware of the limitations of Bluetooth and its ranges but this range seemed to be slightly less than i expected. Indoor I was able to get it across two rooms to about 25/30 feet until it cut out. Outside though I got about 15 until it started to cut out, and the Bluetooth adapter its right against the wall. I purchased this device because I wanted the ability to control music outside from a tablet but the Apple Airport was top much of a PIA to connect so that's why I went with the Bluetooth adapter. I am not able to get the range I need for outside so I will have to return this adapter and try the Apple Airport again. What really bothered me is that I found instructions online to solder an antenna to it which should be an option to purchase not something I have to do. This device works fine if your within the limitations of Bluetooth technology.
