**Q: How long will they last on a car battery**
A: It will work with a car battery. It all depends on the size.

**Q: what is the voltage range on this light**
A: In my experience these are not 12v lights they have three wire, I think they had blue brown and yellow as if they where 240v. I tried connecting blue and brown wire to 12v battery would not light up no mater what way I connected it. I got a refund. With nothing to loose connected to 240v and light went bang. Don't waste your money is my advice.

Have used this in conjunction with a dusk/dawn sensor (purchased separately) and so far it's been absolutely great. It's been running a few weeks - on at dusk off at dawn - long may it continue. I wanted 12V as I'm not a qualified electrician - and didn't want to run mains across from a building to a tree (where it's mounted) - so for me - just what I needed. Bright enough to provide a decent light to an area of around 5x5m looking down from 2.5m up.
