Works Great - Saved Me Lots of Money
After I purchased my new Lenovo U310 Touch Laptop, I noticed that my communications headset (dual headphones/boom mic) would not plug into the new "combo" audio jack. As its name implies, the combo jack combines audio (inputs/outputs) into one jack instead of a separate plug/jack for the headphones and a separate plug/jack for the boom mic. While a combo jack is a nice space-saving feature, I was not ready to get rid of my favorite communications headset though I did shop around for a replacement just to check prices. I was surprised to see that prices for new headsets comparable to my "old" ones ranged from $90-$120 and were much larger than my current set. Most of the higher quality headsets I located were for gaming purposes rather than communications (as was my need). As with a lot of gear, size does matter as I use the headset with Amateur Radio (Ham) communications software on my PCs and often take the headset with me when I travel. The large size design of the newer, gaming headsets would just take up too much space in my carry-on bag and/or my suitcase when traveling by air. So the Rockit Headphone/Microphone Splitter seemed to be just the ticket to let me connect my old headset to the new computer.I ordered and received it in a couple of days. It worked perfectly. It's size is perfect for using with the location of the combo plug on my new laptop. The actual plug part of it only extends a little beyond the device so it does not interfere with using my laptop in anyway. The plastic "block" that holds the jacks/plug together are a convenient size to get a grip on it when inserting or removing it from the laptop. So all-in-all this is a great little device that works and helped me avoid buying a new, expensive, larger headset that would not likely have worked as well as what I already had. I highly recommend this device.

A little noisy, but it works. Used with Motorola Moto G4 and Samsung Galaxy S5
It's a little bit noisy, but it's the only product I could find that does what I need it to do- and that is to connect my Moto G4 Moto G (4th Generation) - Black - 32 GB - Unlocked - Prime Exclusive - with Lockscreen Offers & Ads]to a mix-minus on a mixing board to record phone/skype conversations live for a podcast.I run the headphone port directly to my computer audio interface, with the mic signal from the mixing board routed through the AUX output into the mic port on the Rockit Adapter. I listen on headphones connected to the Audio interface[[ASIN:B00QHURLHM BEHRINGER U-PHORIA UMC404HD for live monitoring.I can record my voice plus two in-house guests and one person live via phone/skype/hangouts/etc all on different tracks with this setup. You need to make sure you have the right connections to both ports, and you need to have both the headphones and mic plugged into the adapter before plugging it into your phone. Otherwise, it works as intended. Also have used it with a Samsung Galaxy S5 with no issues.

Finally a product that works!
I've been struggling for weeks trying to get an external microphone *CONSISTENTLY* working through the combined headphone/line-in analog jack on my Mid-2015 Retina Macbook Pro due to my current Work from Home situation. Lots of connectors have claimed that they are "Apple Compatible" but none have lived up to their claims (not entirely their fault, as Apple does like to be non-standard). I picked up this splitter on a whim but had low expectations. However, when I got the connector in and plugged in my 1/8" mic, the Macbook Immediately recognized that I had an external microphone connected and started receiving input from it. If anyone is experiencing the same issue in connecting both an external 1/8" microphone or line-in as well as the headphone output, I would highly recommend this nifty connector!

Works as intender
The Rockit Splitter has finally allowed me to use my headset with my mac and apple products without any pain. However there is a couple of things to consider that don't allow me to grade it with 5 stars:- The size is an impediment to use a USB device next to it on a MacBook Pro Retina- For use with a MacBook/MacBook Pro you need to mute your headset, connect the headset to your Rockit, and finally plug the Rockit into your Mac, so it recognizes there is a headset with a mic attached to it. This was the hardest thing to figure out, because at the beginning it was impossible to get the mic to workOther than these 2 very specific flaws, I'm loving my Rockit

Mic works great, but volume on headphones is low
I am not sure if it is defective, or a byproduct of the way it was designed, but the headphones are lower after going through this device. I usually use an extension cable for my headphones to make the cord longer, and that doesn't lower the volume at all, but once I plug the splitter in the line, I have to turn my mac up another two notches or so. Even without the extension cord, I need to increase the volume, so it's definitely the splitter. The mic sounds great. If it wasn't for the lower headphone volume and me having to increase it, i would give it 5 stars... it probably deserves a 4.5, but I can't do that.

Do not fit Motorola Photon Smart Phone
This Rockit headphone microphone splitter perhaps is good and working but is to thick to plug in Motorola Photon. I about 0.5mm too thick what make impossible to plug in to my phone. This devise perhaps will work with other phones.Update 06/14/2013. I did upgrade this product to 5 stars. I did make big mistake when I try to use this splitter with my Motorola Photon 4G. I was not able to plug on not because the splitter was to thick like I did mention before. But because my phone is inside protective case and this particular case have two small bumps on bouth side of headphones inputs what make impossible to plug some devises what are more thick then desire by manufacture of this case. But, I did file up this plastic bumps and now this splitter working perfect with my phone inside protective case. Now I use this splitter to connect my smart phone with Rode Smart-Lav mic and Sony MDR-V700 headphones and everything is working wonderful. Thank you for very good product.
