The only optional thing is the controller kit to control the fan and monitor everything using your phone. At the time of this review the price of the controller kit is $69 U.S. that would be nice but not 100% nessary. Light blocking is phenomenal. Clip on fan is nice, quiet as well. Light is good but should have spent $80 more on the Samsung light. Growing cooking herbs right now but overall very happy with this. This is for the kit with the ts1000 light. Thank you Mars hydro for a good kit that is easy to get started with. This has enough room for a second grow light of the same dimensions if hung correctly. I have the ts 500 and it works well also. This is a solid thick tent. Love the amount of ports with double layers to keep light in. This makes a fairly fully sealed space.
