Review: Easy, works great, and not toxic like other cleaners - I first found out about this at Bloomingdales when I was looking to see what they sell for sterling silver. I bought my first jar 20 years ago and it lasted for over 15 years because I didn't use that much at a time and I don't have too many items to polish. Over time it does dry out a bit, but with a bit of water it works just the same. I like this because it is non-toxic, I don't have to worry about breathing in toxic fumes, nor getting it on my skin, although I do use rubber gloves when I use this. It has the consistency of thick pudding; I wet a cellulose sponge, dip it in the jar, with the foam on the sponge, and rub it over the silver item, quickly removing built up tarnish. With older tarnish, it may take a bit of elbow grease, but over all it works really well. I know there are a lot of things on social media today, showing using foil, and baking soda, which although it may work, it also causes microscopic pitting in the silver surface which cannot be undone or fixed, so why take a chance if you have quality silver with methods that are not safe nor good for the item? Overall, I wouldn't trust anything else to silver items, whether sterling or silver plate. This works so well, so easily, and the fact that it isn't toxic, is a winner to me.
