However, the inseam is much longer than stated. I wear a 30" inseam and these are easily a 32-33", taking them up will prove difficult because of the extra material on the rear of the cuff. If I paid full retail I would send them back, but Amazon was almost half off, so okay. I gig MK 2 stars because of it.FWIW: I tried these on locally, the waist sizes are pretty true to fit vs. other brands that make you feel good, I would go up one size for waist comfort. ### ⭐⭐ Crotch Gusset and That's It *by A***S on Reviewed in the United States on October 31, 2012* I purchased the Mountain Khakis Men's Alpine Utility Pants as an alternative to cargo pants. I especially liked the comfort that the gusseted crotch provided. However, I have been disappointed by the quality and utility of this item. Aside from the gusseted crotch the best feature is that the pants hold their color. Unfortunately, the pants are expensive, the material quickly wears and the pockets are of limited use do to their design. The leg utility pocket is very small with restricted access limiting it to small items and the cut is very straight making the three hip pockets virtually useless. I can't even fit my keys, phone and inhaler in separate pockets and sit down. The material has shown wear around the seams at a rapid rate. Kuhl is the only brand I can compare the rapid wear too. I haven't even experienced material damage like this from Walmart pants. This wear manifested after light use and delicate laundering with rack drying. Given my observations even the sale price I paid was too high for the limited quality and utility of these pants. I wanted these pants for a number of years before I risked the price to purchase them. I am disappointed. I purchased Berne sanded duck pants that cost far less than these pants that show no wear at all, have bigger pockets, and have a more generous fit but lack the crotch gusset. Additionally, I could've purchased several pairs of Riggs Ranger pants for the the cost of these Mountain Khakis. The Riggs pants like the Berne pants are cheaper, more durable, and more utilitarian. At least from a distance the Mountain Khakis look nice. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Keeps the thorns out, doesn't fit the greatest *by T***E on Reviewed in the United States on April 16, 2012* I've got a job that takes me throughout the entire state and exposes me to a great variety of hazards including thorny bushes, barbed wire, and stinging nettles. I've found that the heavier weight of the cotton in these pants protects me from most of these hazards (except for large rose and raspberry thorns) without feeling anything. The only thing I don't like is the fit. I'm usually very comfortable in a 30 inch waist but found the 30 inch waist of these too constrictive and had to move up in size. The construction of the waist ensures a pretty consistent fit. One big problem I've had with every pair of these pants is that they wear out the fastest above the knee, right above the extra layer of fabric. I've noticed that the positioning of the extra layer of fabric limits the flexibility of the pants, causing a stress point at that opens pretty easily.
