I've mostly used it on dry hard and soft woods for detail, tight curves, touching up chamfers, etc. It works well with and across the grain. The only downside is that the sheath is plastic. I'll probably replace that at some point, but it works fine and it's not like that was some kind of surprise. The sheath is still well made for what it is. I've never put it on my belt, though. I can't dock it for that. The blade is very thin and if misused can be damaged, the band around the knife blade is steel and if you let water get in there and dont clean it it can rust.
