Mist Maker Maintenance Kit, Ceramic Disk/Ceramic Disk Key

I installed this part to a germguardian unit. They don't manufacture this unit anymore. The current model is branded as pureguardian. After installation I was disappointed because at full spray control, the cool mist is so thin, I could hardly see it. So I just let it run 'til it emptied the reservoir. On the next refill I noticed that the mist has thickened a little bit than from the get go. Now I on the third refill, here is the surprise, it's back to the optimum performance like brand new. I therefore conclude that the replacement ceramic disc mist maker has to go on a break-in period. For those impatient customer like me, take note of my review.

Only reason I gave this 2 stars was because it arrived and it looked just like the picture. Other than that, it seems to be pretty much useless. I tried it on a couple of foggers and couldn't get it to work even once. It bent right off the bat and i bent it back into place and still could not get it to work. Maybe one or two of my foggers were seized but definitely not all of them. I have 8 or more pond foggers lying around, at least 5 of which are the kind that this should fit but I couldn't get a single one open with this.

I am sure that this item is okay. My fogger uses a smaller disk, so this was useless to me, however that is my fault. The wrench does fit, so I got some use out of it. Quality of the set seems pretty good.

I bought 3 fogger units before learning that the ceramic disks get gunked up and need to be replaced. So I am thrilled to know that all I need to do when the unit stoops fogging is replace this little disk. I would like to mention that it is also sometimes possible to clean the disk with vinegar to restore it, which I have done successfully while I await the new disk in the mail.

Item was received very quickly. Simple to remove the old disk and insert the new one with the little tool it came with.As it turns out the old disk being cracked and worn from so many months of operating is what was causing it to not mist anymore. This replacement fixed it right up. This thing helped save me from buying a entirely new unit.

It worked for about 45 seconds & then quit & wouldn't work again. I had to buy a whole new fogger unit. The instructions on how to install fogger disc are unclear. The photo shows it above the sealing washer but the disc is actually under it and the sealing washer is very hard to lift without damaging it.

working great so far, taking advice from other customers and using vinegar to try and clean hard water deposits first next time.

It looked like a good concept, but didn't work. The "wrench" kept slipping, and the few times it did get a grip, the disk wouldn't budge and ended up bending the wrench. Oh well, time to get a new atomizer instead
