LogitechHarmony 700 8-Device Universal Remote - Black

Hey my life is easier now
This is my second one, so that should tell you something. I really like the Harmony 700. The Harmony 700 is pretty easy to program and setup. I have four devices setup on both remotes in different rooms . I like that if I switch functions from TV to DVD it does not have to turn everything off then back on, it just turns off the cable box and starts the DVD player and of course make all the necessary connections. It also asks if everything is correct after a change of use and gives you an easy way to get things back in sync if needed. Maybe they could provide a little more information on line? When I realized these were also Bluetooth I tried to find out information as how to have them run my media center on my computer. I have a thousand albums in wave format on the computer and it's hooked up to my surround sound amplifier, the amp is now controlled by the Harmony 700. I have not had any luck at Logitech as to which Bluetooth USB Adapters they recommend for a computer? They do say that this can work with Windows 7 ! But this would be icing on the cake, it more than does what I bought it for and I will just keep looking for more USB info. It's also rechargeable which is always a plus.

I would recommend investing in a better remote
I found all of my devices were defined in their wizard, so I tried setting everything up. It works ok, but it keeps forgetting. What I mean by that is, so I press the button to watch TV, which is supposed to turn on my TV, my stereo, and go to the TV input. It usually just goes to my Android TV main screen. And after watching TV for a bit, it will forget that my sound comes through the stereo and when I change the sound level, it will start adjusting the TV sound level instead of the stereo sound level. There's a lovely Help assistant that you can go through when things don't seem to be working as they should and it will most of the time correct it (except the tuning to the TV, that never works), but I shouldn't have to use that assistant every time I turn on the TV. I would recommend investing in a better remote.Update, only a year and a half in and the battery won't charge. Avoid this remote at all cost...

excellent universal remote
For the money why would you look for anything else? I might in future upgrade to their flagship model but as a first time with a harmony remote i'm really really happy. The harmony system (which of course is common between all the remotes) is great for getting everything working on the remote with minimal effort, and when i get a newer remote later then i can just move the profiles over. The remote itself is of good quality and although the screen isn't perfect i'm not expecting it to be. The screen is easily viewed and you can navigate the options quite easily. Sometimes I find that it doesn't always turn off all the appliances the first time i push the button but that could also just be me not giving it long enough to send through all the codes or it might be the appliance being a bit finnicky itself (usually my fairly old tv). Battery life is great and I think I've changed batteries once since I bought it (a good couple of months now). All in all this is a wonderful product and makes me excited to stick to the harmony line.

Fantastic Universal Remote for a reasonable price
My second Harmony device. This one replaced my Harmony 650 that died on me after many years of faithful service. It was very easy to set-up, especially having been a harmony user previously. I plugged in, loaded up the myharmony program, and was able to just copy all of my harmony 650 settings for all of my devices right on to the new 700. I was ready to go in under 5 min. Even if you're a first time user, setting up your devices takes very little time at all. Perfect for my needs and great for the price.

Remote still works ,yet I have to remove the batteries now when ever it needs charging. Will not connect to computer for updates.
I have a friend that has had this remote for a while and after checking his out I wanted one. I had found one thru Best Buy,yet not in store and at the time the price was not to my liking. So I came here to amazon and found this one for a much better price. It works extremely well and controls my receiver ,TV,Blu-Ray and other devices very well. I like that you can set it to turn on/off the receiver along with the TV with one touch of the remote and control all of the functions for any of my devices.11/11/2017 Update:I have found that the built in charger of the remote has quit. Now I see that the warranty of the remote was way to short and should of made the purchase of the extended warranty to cover it. Because of this I have changed my rating for the product because of it's charging capabilities. I will not make the purchase of another remote that has been set as refurfished without having the extended warranty again.

It's "Just OK"
Replaced five remotes and it is great. There are two main negative issues however. The most frustrating of all is the tiny "OK" button with the four directional arrows. Be careful because you can accidently hit something else and end up lost in trying to get back to where you were. Secondly, there is no asterisk key. If you want to add a movie on Amazon Prime there is no way to do it. I have searched Logitech's website with similar remotes that might take care of these issues. None that I find have a larger "OK" navigation button without surrendering the numeric key pad. (No key pad? That makes no sense.) There is no visible solution I can find for the missing asterisk key. I am finding it difficult to replace this unit without going way past any practicable price options. Paying over $100 for a remote for the normal home theater system (Hanging flat screen, DVD, Sat box, Streamer, and Receiver) seems too impractical for most folks’ budgets. Now there may be another company out there, but overall it is hard to beat the product line and customer support of Logitech. Frustrating indeed.

Potentially dangerous product
This remote is manufactured as rechargeable and originally is sent with rechargeable batteries. This is not the case with this supplier. They send out regular alkaline batteries that specifically state on them the danger of possible explosion or leaking if they are recharged. Buyer beware!
