Usually the roller goes under the board. I havent heard or seen anyone try putting the roller on the side of the board. Now if your asking if the roller can be placed under the board parallel with length of the board, the answer is yes. However the stoppers are not able to be attached longways and you will create a very dangerous situation for yourself. **Q: Can you spin it around?
