Nintendo 3DS XL Nerf Armor Maximum Protection Case - Pink by Nintendo 3DS Nerf

I purchased this item for my daughter's 3DS XL, which she had dropped and broken the hinge. Since this clamps on to both the top and bottom and has it's own hinge, this provides support for the broken hinge, at least allowing it to be used without fear of her ripping the top half off the unit.The only thing I added was a bit of 1/4" wooden dowel to keep the armor's hinge supported.Although there are many reviews stating they received the regular 3DS version of the armor, the seller from which I made the purchase ("Best Dollar 4U") did send the correct unit.

I needed this for a 3DS XL with a hinge (right hand side) that had slowly but completely broken apart, eventually leaving the top screen to swing dangerously from the bottom by the left hinge. This case has it's own hinge, so now I can play the 3DS without fear of accidentally ripping it apart the rest of the way. The cases hinges are a bit loose, so I can't, for example, lay down in bed and hold the 3DS above me, or else it will swing shut. But it does what I needed it to do, so I'm happy.

I purchased this to help protect my daughters 3DSXL. It arrived on time and was well packaged. It is easy to install and seems to offer quite a bit of protection. The material is not exactly like the "Nerf" material you might be thinking. It's more of a very dense Styrofoam. So far it has held up very well. The only drawback might be that it makes the 3DSXL a little thick and bulky, but that's my opinion, my daughter doesn't seem to mind at all. It doesn't block any of the buttons or plug ins. Be advised that because of otterbox type phone cases many people are used to waterproof cases and this case is not waterproof. If I needed another 3DS protective case I would purchase this product again.

Shortly after fitting the Nerf Armor Maximum Protection Case to our Nintendo 3DS XL, my son accidentally dropped it down a set of concrete steps. Our DS still worked fine. This case changes the feel of the DS, making it easier to hold and less likely to slip out of the hands. The soft nature of the NERF material provides excellent drop protection but also makes the case itself vulnerable to wear and tear. With daily use, ours wear to the point that they become ugly (but still functional) within 12-16 months. Our solution is to purchase another Nerf case, much cheaper than replacing broken 3DSs.

Fits Nintendo 3DSXL (older version) perfectly. The hinges for the case itself support the 3DSXL hinges which left on their own are prone to breaking. The Nerf case's hinge keeps even a cracked 3DSXL hinge in place and is preventing further cracking. Definitely recommend. I just wish these were easier to locate, and they're rarely sold in stores. The foam padding is thick enough to protect from fall damage, and contoured enough to be comfortable while using. In fact, the shape of the foam makes the 3DSXL more comfortable to use with the case on than without the case.

This case is fantastic!! The materials are amazing & the craftsmanship .. Even better! I'm comfortable knowing my Nintendo 3DS XL is safely wrapped in the BEST case I could've found! The material is hard to explain .. It's not the "nerf" I remember from childhood.. It's wonderful protection and cushioned at the same time. It's comfortable to hold..even for long periods of time, the console fits perfectly inside .. Very simple to put the case on.. And I turned it upside down (above the bed of course) and gave it a really good shake & it didn't budge!im so very happy I purchased the Nerf Armor Maximum protection case!! I absolutely DO recommend this to ANYONE that's looking for a case to protect their investment!

The case is a little bulky, but offers great protection for my daughter's DS. It has survived falls out of the back of my truck with no damage. This is a replacement from the one I purchased about a year ago. The case is not as durable as others on the market, and my daughter's first one ripped around the corners. But it lasted a year and did its job.

My girl loved this. She has trouble with handheld systems for some reason but this makes it easy for her to play all her favorite games. I love that it made my little girl happy and it is in great condition.

The item received was defective and had pieces of the armor missing.

This Nerf protective case is the absolute best for the Nintendo DSXL

My granddaughter really needed to replace the first one she had from over a year ago. She loved this one and is a very happy camper.

Bought this because 3dsxl hinge was broken. I stuffed the missing space with tissue and tape to keep the case from coming apart. Works very well.
