Yoga Mat Nirvana
Love it.Yup, it's pretty much the most expensive mat out there, so it really needed to be good. And it's great. This mat actually does provide padding against the floor, which is what I look for in a mat. I've tried the medium of the line and the top of the line, and the bottom of the line, and the key, for me, is foam density. Here's how I would classify Yoga Mats:- Highest Density: Hard and Tough (think Manduka mats): they call it a mat, but really, it's like working out on a rubber tire. It's high density that will absorb impact, but it won't provide gentle padding. It's fine if you're a hardcore yogi, but for some of us we need a little extra padding.- Low Density (this is the cheapo stuff). Basically, it looks like a yoga mat, it may even be 1/4 inch of yoga mat, but because of the low density, it squishes pretty much to the floor when you kneel or stand or lie on it, so it doesn't provide any more than a 1/8 high density mat.- Medium High Density: this is what I'd call Jade Fusion: It's high density, so it won't sink like the cheap stuff, but because it's not as hard and dense as the Manduka, it actually cushions a little, which is nice! But it's still high density enough so it doesn't sink to the floor. You actually get a lot of padding out of that 5/16th of an inch.It was tough to spend that much on a mat, but I'm glad I did. The only downside is that whenever I'm not using it, I have to roll it up, or my golden retriever goes straight for it to have a little lie down...

good mat for Vinyasa/Flow/Ashtanga yoga
This is my second Jade Fusion midnight blue yoga mat(first one got stolen after 3 months).I tried Manduka Pro mat but found out it was too slippery once you start sweating. Standard Jade Harmony was too thin for my taste when doing large number of jumps(I don't land that hard but after a while, it does add up).So for flow yoga(vinyasa, power yoga, Ashtanga) on carpet, this mat worked quite well.Downside: on carpet, this mat works fine but on wooden floor and on concrete(yes, some studio still uses them), mat moves or slips as you use it. Also, after 2-3 months, the mat has developed couple of tear spots(never noticed it with Manduka or Jade Harmony or generic yoga mat). For balance pose, the mat is too squishy and it's usually easier doing it on bare floor. For the price, I wished the mat was more durable and underside was treated with non-slip sticky surface coating.

Fantastic mat and worth every penny!
I'm not the queen of ashtanga or anything but I've enjoyed practicing yoga for about 5 years. Much like the Princess and the Pea, I'm really picky about mats and have had difficulty with slipping (my feet sweat a lot). I researched rubber mats when my studio converted to hardwood floors. I already had a thick mat but wanted more cush. This really fits the bill. The smell takes some getting used to but the added comfort is worth a little rubbery scent. And no slipping - EVER. I washed it once when it was brand new, let it air dry, and that was it. I find the cushioning to be far superior to my old mat when I'm doing balance poses. You can really grip it with your feet and it makes holding all asanas a lot easier. Everybody else in my class is using 2 or 3 standard mats at a time to get extra cushion. I use this and I'm just fine and I have middle-aged knees. I never thought I'd pay this much for a mat but it's totally worth it.

best yoga mat i ever owned, now i own 2!
I had a Jade Fusion Mat in red, I love that mat & used it for 2-3 years. My husband started doing yoga & "borrowed" my mat, of course I never get to use it anymore. I got fed-up with sharing & bought myself a new mat in blue. I love both mats equally & realized my red mat really is in good shape after 2-3 years of use plus a husband use too. These are terrific mats, good for you, your practice & the environment!

Best yoga mat
It is difficult to find a yoga mat that adds extra padding but still works like a yoga mat should. This one is great! I have gotten one for myself and for two gifts. I is sticky enough that is provides a nice grip, and it is the perfect amount of cushion.I highly recommend this to anyone who has to add extra layers of padding for certain postures.Great find and well worth the price!
