Q: How is the neck support for a kala tenor? i had a case that the support was so bad that the ukulele see-sawed in the case. no support. thanks.

I have a Gator case but for my Concert Ukulele. There is a neck support that cradles the neck just above where the neck meets the body. It is like most hard cases I have ever seen . There is a small pick/tuner compartment in the space below the suspended neck. Very good case I would recommend it.

Q: What are the 3 silver "buttons" on the back? Is that for adding straps to carry like a backpack?

The 3 round buttons are chrome "feet" so it protects it if it's resting on that side. There isn't anything to attach a strap on this case. Also it's quite heavy so if you figure out some kind of idea for a strap, remember it's heavy(plywood). The chrome feet raise it about 1/2 inch or so. It's a really strong case and I would trust it for my best use.

Q: Is the "middle bout" referred to in the description the waist?
