Power Practical Luminoodle Color Plus - 5 ft LED Light Rope with Color + Battery Pack - Outdoor LED String and Lantern for Camping, Hiking, Safety - Remote Control, Dimmer, Waterproof

First of all I love this product and it operates as expected. It comes with all the accessories you need to hang it easily to provide lighting in different locations - and it comes with a handy remote.I have a toy-hauler trailer with two queen beds at the back of the trailer which compress together and lift to the ceiling so you can drive your ATV's in the back ramp. Because of this design, there is no lighting over the beds that could be damaged when they lift. I like to read in bed, and this product works great for my needs since the magnets stick the light string to the metal frame of the trailer and light the entire area over the bed. I use one of my old 1 amp USB power supplies from an old phone to power it when I am connected to electrical power in a trailer park. The remote makes it easy to turn on a light in the middle of the night since the switch for the regular lights in my trailer is at the opposite end of the trailer from the beds.I also use it on the supplied battery when I am not hooked up to power or I am tent camping. It provides a nice bright light inside of a tent.Update : The version I purchased has the 3400mah battery pack provided. The battery pack had a defect where it would not remain on after you switched the lights off. I contacted customer service and they shipped me a replacement right away. So, I can say I am very pleased with the product and the customer service as well.I agree with one of the other reviewers that I would be worried about breaking this if I placed it in a backpack crammed in with a bunch of other stuff. So my suggestion to Power Practical is they should offer a hard case as an option. I designed and 3D printed a hard case before I placed it in my backpack. Now I don't worry about damage.

IF YOU HAVE ROPE PLUG IN BATTERY PACK THE REMOTE WILL NOT WORK & GETS EXTREMELY HOT TO WHERE YOU CAN'T HOLD BATTERY PACK. WITH THESE TWO ISSUES NOT WORTH THE PRICE. ON PLUS-LIGHTS UP THE AREA AROUND YOU-ABLE TO READ BOOK. ABLE TO ADJUST THE BRIGHTNESS, CHANGE COLORS & SPEED OF LIGHT.IF IMPROVEMENTS OF GETTING RID OF ALWAYS BEING PLUG IN TO POWER SOURCE, ABLE TO USE REMOTE WHILE PLUG IN TO BATTERY PACK & NOT GETTING HOT RATE WOULD BE 5.ALSO, IF YOU CAN'T GET LUMINOODLE TO WORK PLUG IN & OUT 5 TIMES TO RESET.USE ALL CAPS FOR EYESIGHT.

The two Luminoodles showed up quickly and did everything they are meant to do. We can't wait to get out into our tent and string them up! They are going to be useful and fun to have.One of the two we ordered was defective when it arrived, and was only partially functional. The chip that controls all the functions on the light was defective. But, it was no problem. I called Customer Service at Power Practical and Aurora took care of it immediately, without any hassle. Two days later I had a replacement unit in my hands and it works perfectly! So, I give a huge "thumbs up" to Power Practical for standing 100% behind their product. That counts for A LOT.My next purchase will be the "Base Camp" model.

As an avid camper and overlander this is one of the best things I've bought this year. I can mount this to the back of the FJ VIA its magnets and light up my cooking station, and when I'm done simply transfer it to the side of the truck under the awning to eat. The ability to change the colors and brightness are really nice. When my wife and I are done with camp and it's time to get into the tent, I just mount this to the included straps I put in the tent and we have a tent light that doesn't blind us like my old light, and the colored light it pouts out doesn't draw in bugs like my old lights used to. Very cool product!

Loved using this in our tent on a camping trip this summer. But the battery pack runs out in about 5 min, even with the brightness turned way down. I made sure the battery was fully charged before we hit the road. Glad I had another battery pack I brought along. I'd save a little money and just by the RGB Luminoodle without the battery pack. Thinking about contacting the manufacturer and asking for an exchange on the battery. Maybe I just got a defective one.

I used these for electric forest and they worked ok... At the campsite they were great, but to wear them they kept going off if I moved and then stopped working all together... I was really hoping this would be an awesome addition to my outfit... I will continue to look for something to wear all night in the forest... I would buy them again just for the campsite... but not for wearing over all...

Generally like the product. Works as advertised. Did have an issue in that if the light is plugged in upside down to the battery it doesn't work. Turning it over solved the problem. However, I'd think the plug could be engineered in such a way as to eliminate this issue.

Not a bad buy, the length of the full thing is 5 feet though the lights don’t span the full length; so there’s a few inches of “wasted” space.Would be cool if you can connect multiple strings of lights.The remote is handy too.

I like the luminoodle products and own the 10ft white model. I have also ordered the 5ft colour model.Both lighting strips work well and the in line control on the colour model allows you to change colours and flash the lights.Overall both are good although I have an issue specifically with the remote that comes with the colour.The remote did not work on the first order or the second replacement order.Really disappointing. Will give it another go, maybe 3rd time lucky.

Great product

I loved the idea of the Luminoodle when I first saw it. Now that It has a remove and dimmer feature, I thought it was a good time to buy in. After some testing I can say that it works almost exactly as advertised. Its very bright, the lantern bag works well. It has a in-line remote if you don't want to carry the full size one.the magnets do an excellent job and add versatility. Plus, as a added bonus it has some fun modes to play around with. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for some portable area lighting.Now the 1 downside I found.Since this does have a remote function, I found it rather quirky. Sometimes nothing would work and the light would just flash like it was in beacon mode. I assume this is some sort of error mode as no functions work and the light cannot be switched on or off. This luckily can be corrected by plugging/unplugging the usb connection about 3-5 times really quickly. It seems like it happens every time I plug it into a power source. For this reason I took off a star.

Great product, exactly as described. The bag/lantern idea is brilliant (pun intended)!The included power bank has a pretty low capacity (which I expected), but the incremental cost over the version without the power pack means it is still decent value. If you use this intermittently it should last a while, but for an evening's ambient light the power is used up in one evening. I plan to use it with a larger-capacity power bank for multi-night use around the campground. The integrated magnets are nice touch.My only wish is that the dimmest setting was a bit dimmer to provide a more subtle late-night ambience and to extend the battery duration.

I'm very happy with this purchase. Even the shorter 5ft version is very bright and can easily light a room enough for reading and outdoors, depending on placement, it is capable of lighting up a campsite enough for navigation and basic tasks. The battery lasts a few hours on a full charge and it is nice to have the remote and all the color options in case you intend to use these for something more festive. The attached magnets allow for extra mounting options and I have been surprised at how many times I have used them.
