Great EDC Knife!
One of my favorite knives in the collection. Not sure why but never carried this Knife till recently probably because it's the one tip up only and it takes getting used to pulling out a tip up knife when you always go tip down. Mostly bought it because I had no buck or 154CM blades in the collection yet and the unique locking system seemed like it had potential. I've just started carrying it recently but now have added it to the regular rotation because it is a great EDC. The smoothest knife I own by far due to the fact that the lock puts no pressure on the blade except for when it's fully open and closed unlike any other locking system. That combined with the caged ball bearing system in the pivot and The thing just functions as smooth as glass. The lock can get tight and a little sticky but lock is adjustable so just have to find the perfect sweet spot where there is no front back blade play and the lock doesn't get too tight. There is also a pretty big learning curve getting used to the lock so takes a lil while to get used to and you feel like you may lose a finger getting used to it haha but once i got used to the lock it was as awesome as my paramilitary II compression lock or better because it is adjustable giving the knife a longer life, and it is the most secure locking system I've ever seen. Absolutely no side to side blade play on the knife and the 154 cm blade takes an amazing edge and Buck heat treating is supposed to be next level so should hold that edge well. Two downsides I'm not big on anodized aluminum handles because they can easily lose their color and the bare aluminum will start showing in places eventually. The second is it isn't held closed very tightly so the blade is easily opened just by shaking it downward which could be potentially dangerous. It helped when I cut a notch in the underside of the lockbar where part of the blade contacts it to hold it closed but it's still easily opened. Even with these two potential problems it still gets the full 5 stars. The quality blade steel, caged ball bearing system, Buck name, with the Boss heat treating makes this knife more than worth the $85 price tag. I say pay a little more for a paramilitary II, possibly the best EDC knife ever, but if you don't want to pay $125 for a knife then this is a really good second option.

Good knife would be great if it was more simple and refined
I wanted to go to 3 stars but I need to give this knife a chance.Pros. Great for leftys like meErgos are really niceBoos hardening is the best in the business so steel is great.Knife came sharpBuck warranty and the fact they are thinking outside the box with cool new design.Cons. Came loose both blade has side to side play and detent weak. The knife will fly out if you shake it hard enough. To kinda dial it in is a little complicated and uses a very small Allen key not included. You have to use trial and error to the max. The slightest turn of the screw and it's way tight or loose. Top that with cheap screws. Coming from a company that brags about there steel can't they pay literally 1/2 penny more to get better quality. Finally. Closing and opening this knife does takes practice but the issue is what is the right way it's supposed to be? On a regular liner lock it's easy to figure out how the knife is supposed to function. With this one you really don't know if it's to tight or loose. When it was tight for me I like the deployment it just felt right. But to close the thing was a nightmare and combined with sharp Flipper and pinch risk it was painfully annoying. When it was loose I didn't trust it staying locked.Bottom line is I will keep and carry it past this 2 weeks I've had it. I would pay double for a more refined unit like this with smoother edges and reworked design.

and rather easy, to operate the locking mechanism one-handed
If you're a fully functioning adult without any physical or mental disabilities you will find that it is possible; and rather easy, to operate the locking mechanism one-handed. Don't let other reviews fool you. With that being said. I've had this knife for over a year now and it's definitely one of the coolest knives I've ever owned. Very reliable, quick, very strong, and very sharp.%%%%%%%%%%%%% 6 YEARS! %%%%%%%%%%%%I have used this knife countless times to chop up small limbs for campfires. I just bash the backside with a rock and it goes right through. It's a blessing that I can just tighten it up and it's back in perfect condition! Where this knife falls short in the blade having play, wobbling, rattling, etc, it maintains an advantage where the action never gets sticky or dirty and always works.I have used this knife to shave curb rash off of aluminum rims!I use it to cut open soup cans and it stays paper slicing sharp!I purchased this knife June 5, 2014 for $83.24 (with today's price at $114.99 that's a 38% gain in value!)This knife is the easiest to repair and maintain that I have ever seen. The latching mechanism design is ingenious in that it can always be readjusted. It's hard to sharpen, but equally hard to dull. This design is extremely robust in regards to long term mechanical life and usability. This is the most reliable knife I have ever owned and it has never let me down where others have.Buy this knife if:You understand that you will probably have to adjust the latching mechanism at some point. You understand the shortcomings of play in the blade tightness and how this trades off for reliable and smooth action of the blade deployment. You want a quality tool that you can maintain and repair(lifetime warranty)You're don't have hand-dexterity issues or a learning mental block. You don't care about the paint job.You know how to use an allen wrenchYou're not mechanically illiterateYou want your product made in USA

Good value flipper
I love flippers and this one is good fun to play with - a proper fidget folder! It's nice looking and the action is very smooth, almost too smooth actually. It simply swings like a pendulum when it's not locked so be careful!! It flips fast and closes fast if you do it rightIt's easy to open, simply pull the tab back - like a light switch - for the fastest opening actionIt's easy to close, too, but I could not work out how to close it best until I watched a reviewer's video on here!Hold your thumb and middle finger on either side of the lock mechanism (on top with the jimping all round it) and pull gently upwards while pushing on the TOP of the blade with your index finger. The opposing pressure will release the blade and cause it to swing down quickly and lock into place. It worked the first time I tried it and it never fails! GREAT ACTION! I love it.Not used to cut with yet, but it does feel sharp. I will likely get it on the stone to get it super sharp - not used the 154CM steel before but it's supposed to be similar to VG10 which I have on other folders. I like the finish on the blade. I won't use this for anything messy so will not worry about rust or chipping etc... It will see light use - mostly play I thinkNo play in the blade or anywhere else. But I hear it can be adjusted if necessary to tighten up the action/lock. It actually comes with 2 Allen keys which is great! The carry clip and its placement is awesome!! I put it in my pocket next to my Leatherman C33 EDC and it's barely noticeable. It carries real deep. Very nice!! My only gripe here is that it's nice and tight, which would be great so you've less chance of losing it, BUT there are some serrations/cutouts in the scales that tend to rub real bad on your pocket as you slide the knife out. This will no doubt cause some undue wear on your pockets if you're pulling it out a lot. This is actually my main gripe about the knife as a whole - the finish. The design and fit are very good. But the finish is a bit poor. Edges are a little sharp, especially the flipper tab. I will likely smooth them off a little to make them easier on the hand, but apart from that, it's a great budget knife IMO. Highly recommend it
