Great machine
Bought one for £520 that had been return, it was like brand new hadn't been used at all just the packaging had been opened, bought some cafe Nero beans to try it out, it was just like drinking coffee in the Nero shop, would recommend this product

Not worth the money
I had big expectations with this machine, given the brand name. Firstly, this is not a quiet machine, it resonates a deep vibration contrary to what the advert states. Secondly and more infuriatingly is the milk container. When you click it into position it does not always connect. you only realise this after the machine has gone through the cycle of grinding the beans and the throther attempts to deliver the milk! There is a horrendous splattering noise, steam splattering everywhere and then you see the "Abort" message appear. You press it and the machine eventually stops dispensing, drops the un used coffee and goes back the main menu. As a result you have wasted yet more coffee beans. You then have to then remove and reattach the container and if you are lucky, hey presto, all is fine. For every 10 cups of coffee made I would estimate that at least 3 cups are wasted as a result of this frustrating scenario. For the price of the machine, you would expect a smooth and pleasant experience every time you use it. Sadly this is not the case. For all the hassle I wished I had simply bought a milk throther and a decent grade of ground coffee and used a cafetiere. I would have saved myself the best part of £800!! Would I recommend this machine, I want to say yes but in all honesty. no.

Flaw in the design of the milk frother docking mechanism
Have had this EQ9 s300 machine for about a year, and since day one have had the issue other reviewers have described of often the milk not dispensing and instead getting loud hissing/spluttering. I've tried a "fix" I found on youtube of opening up the front dispenser panel and putting a thin piece of foil under the bit where the hole for the milk carafe docks into (the hole can move slightly due to raising/lowering the coffee dispenser since the plastic materials are connected - really bad/shoddy design), putting a bit of foil underneath raises the hole a little so it now aligns fully with the tip of the milk carafe insert, however this only helped reduce the problem but didn't eliminate it, I still get the no-milk hissing spluttering maybe a third of the time. The only other extremely temporary "solution" is as soon as the hissing/spluttering starts and it's obvious the machine will not be drawing any milk, you very quickly remove the carafe and reinsert it, like a split second in out, quick enough that it kinda tricks the machine into not aborting the drink. For some reason this corrects the issue and the machine starts to output steamed/frothed milk, but t's very frustrating to have to do this every single time the machine fails to draw the milk, because the milk amount is timed you need to do it immediately if you want close to the volume that you want or else you have to run it again which is a faff. The whole point of a fully automatic machine is to press a button and it does it all for you, not to have to stress about whether I need to run to the machine in case I have to pull the carafe in/out. In terms of cleaning I also dislike the milk cleaning system, it literally tells you to remove the carafe and wash out the remaining milk, put it back in, then it runs the milk cleaning cycle, then you again have to remove the carafe and empty the contents.
