**Q: Why did the azo strip test turn purple hrs afyer testimg**
A: I tead where bacteria in urine doubles every 20 minutes, so it is possible bacteria may be breeding on the test strip …

**Q: Will this test detect an e coli urinary tract infection?**
A: It did for me and it has for my mother.  But that said, it does not show what bacteria is causing the infection - only that you have one.  My doctor sent a urine culture to the lab and e coli came back as one of the infecting agents.  The strip used at the doctor's office came back negative even though I had a terrible infection so I trust AZO.

**Q: Do these expire?**
A: They do have an expiration date. In my experience, you usually have between a year and two years before they are expired. They are very reliable, as far as the test results.

**Q: This is for my wife. We can't test while she is urinating, so can we dip the test strips in a sterile collection container?**
A: I have to Cath in a bag so as I'm pouring urine out I run the test strip under it and it works just fine.  The only difference between my bags and the container you're probably using is my bags are sterile so I'd make sure you use a clean container so the test isn't contaminated.

These worked great! I started feeling the stinging of yet another UTI, so I got these overnighted to test and sure enough.. the test lit up like a Christmas tree before the time was even up (first photo). This was was great because it saved me from having to take an antibiotic. At my physical urine test showed uti. I had no symptoms and took this test and it was negative so my dr retested and I did not have one.
