This is for 3.3-5v digital circuits. You will fry it if you run it at 12V. Buy a V.O.M. Instead! That’s what you need. **Q: Will this work on ls and hc family ?** A: Yes, it is. **Q: Is it able to send and receive pulses, can it send out a pulse and also can it receive pulses?** A: no sir ..it is strictly a probe, n combo here, good news is have one...and it is awesome, coupled with my rsr logic pulser lp620, I can inject the pulses and know if that trace is good without breaks that my elenco logic probe will capture it, as well as manipulating integrated circuits into showing me if they are functioning properly, while my probe ensures me the signal is getting there. long story short...I find it mch better to have my probe in one hand and my pulser in the other...the two I meantioned are relatively cheap but will pay for themselves literally a thousand times over. although I am a novice still the applications of these instrumentsand ease of using leave me in awe....oh well...if only I had a current tracer...a boy can dream **Q: can this detect automotive pulses from ignition's pick up coil and crank shaft position sensor's pulses?
