Good grind and good value
Works great. Processes the beans well, and gives a really wide range of variety between extra-fine grind and extra coarse. Only 2 drawbacks: Selector switch for # of tablespoons (4 to 18) is a bit flimsy. Could be more... robust? Bigger? I vary between 2 settings and don't want it to wear out. Same switch is used to shut it off. So if you want, say 10 Tbs. , and then want to make 2 more (for 12 total), you have to shut it off half-way while grinding 4 Tbs. The amount is pretty accurate per setting. Good enough for my uses.Other drawback is the cleaning. Gets kind of oily. But I don't clean it often. Not a major concern. (Hopper-top just simply screws off, past the "coarse" setting. Just keep turning counter-clockwise past the last setting. Re-screw clockwise to reattach.) Not sure if it's dishwasher safe, but i just handwash it. Overall, 10 / 10 for value.

ADVERTISING ERROR. BURR MILL DBM8-AMZ IS NOT A NEWER MODEL!
Cuisinart advised me on 7/15/2018 that burr mill Models DBM-8AMZ and DBM-8 are identical. "AMZ" is just an abbreviation for Amazon. It does NOT designate a new modeland there are absolutely no changes in the grinder's design.Aside from that, this very good-looking, durable burr mill delivers a lot of bang for the buck. Its Fine settings will deliver espresso grinds for use in pressurized filter systems. It works perfectly with my DeLonghi EC155M. However, it will not grind finely enough for use in non-pressurized filters. If you're a fan of oily, dark coffee beans, be sure to keep this grinder clean to avoid problems. It comes with a small, stiff brush.

Works well, is noisy
This grinder has all the features I was looking for at a good price. As others have mentioned, it is noisy, but then so are all coffee grinders. I don't find it any messier than other grinders and it seems to do a good job of grinding the beans. I'm satisfied with my purchase so far. Cannot comment on durability as I've only had it a month. I did spend a few extra dollars and get an extended warranty based on other comments.

Probably not the best grinder, but it does an adequate job and is definitely a very good value
A good all-around coffee grinder. I grind for both drip as well as French press, and it does an acceptable job with both. The uniformity of the end product is excellent (except for the powdery by-product which I will get to later). This is the second Cuisinart grinder I have owned. The first was basically an older generation of the same model, and it lasted more than 12 years. This newer model is not "quiet" by any means, but it is noticeably quieter than the older model, and its ability to grind coffee at the coarse setting (for French press) is considerably better. In my opinion, the feature which allows you to set a number of cups to grind is useless. I never use it, as I prefer to measure by coffee scoop rather than trust the grinder to do it, and I doubt that it could be very accurate or repeatable given that I am sure the setting is based on time and not volume--in other words, setting it to "12 cups" will simply cause the grinder to grind for a longer time before auto-stopping than setting it to "4 cups."The major drawback of this grinder is that, no matter how coarse the grind setting, it always produces a certain amount of fine powder in the final product. When grinding enough coffee for a full pot (10-12 cups) this powder collects just beneath one corner of the container holding the ground coffee and is at least one to two teaspoons. If you do not carefully try to capture and discard this powder, it will mix in with the coffee you have just ground. In the case of drip/filtered coffee it's not the end of the world, but it is awful for French press coffee since it winds up as unpleasant murky grit in the final product, and a layer of sludge at the bottom of your cup.

I'm a cold brewer and this is my review
A moderate grinder for my needs. It's more convenient than a cheap blade grinder. I "typicaly" brew cold coffee about every 3-4 days. I brew using a a common 2 quart brew system. Bottom line: I grind a lot of coarse coffee with this thing. It doesn't grind as coarse as I'd it to for cold brew, but it's close enough for a descent brew. It churns out a lot of very fine grounds that tends to stick you the edges of the catch bin, some of it in big clumps. I take the lid off and brush it out gently to help get a more even grind. Still not perfect, but faster than a blade grinder, and easily matchs my skill at achieving a semi-even grind. Cleanup can take forever if you're picky. The brush it comes with is small and stiff and helps, but it's not enough for the job at all.I also use a small artist paintbrush, and a can of electronics duster outside (does wonders!) The top unscrews and can go in the dishwasher with the catch bin, but the bin has developed a haze with repeated washes. The stainless is a bit of a pain to keep clean, but I don't have stainless appliances so I don't really know the proper cleaning techniques. The cord is long enough for my countertop and wraps nicely underneath. All in all, I'd buy it if I was on a budget and needed a grinder. I don't recommend it as an upgrade if you already own a grinder.

Great for the price!
Hey all! I just bought this two weeks ago and have used it almost every-day to grind my coffee beans on medium grind for my morning coffee. Also when I first got it I used it to grind coarse and set the grounds in my air tight container for when I want to French Press. So far it is amazing! Easy to use, pretty fast, and the clean up is easy. Just don't do what I did and forget to put the lid on the plastic container that catches the grounds... It shoots the grounds everywhere. I'll probably do a video update soon when I get a chance.

Great grinder for the price! Lots of great features.
For the price, this is a great grinder. We also have a $200 grinder but to be honest, I may like this one better! It does a nice even fine grind. I love the portion setting (set an amount and push start). The grind is even.Sure, there's a little static in the plastic reception container, but that's normal for all grinders that have a plastic receptor. If you leave it for a minute after grinding, almost all the static is gone.P.S. I'm a bit of a coffee snob!

Coffee Burr grinder
Aside from being somewhat noisy, I am very pleased with this unit. Mind you, I have only had it for a couple weeks. Once I set up the amount and the grain size, so far it is remarkable.

Decent but LOUD!
Good price point, does the job. But very loud! This is my 3rd burr grinder and this one is by far the loudest.
