Using our magnetic paint is easy and the innovative solution to transform the walls of your home or office into a fun, creative magnetic receptive surface. It rolls on to any flat surface with ease, just like paint you would buy at your local hardware store. How this works: When applied, this product gives the surface metallic properties that a magnet will stick to - just like a refrigerator door is not a magnet itself, but magnets will stick to it because it is metal. This works the same way, makes any wall surface into a magnet-attracting surface. NOTE: Surface must be a flat surface, not textured. Best magnets for use with this product are rubber sheet type magnets, the plastic alphabet and number sets for children, etc. IMPORTANT: Follow exact directions for applying - do not try to coat more square feet than it is formulated for. To spread out the paint too thin or too far will result in NO magnetic properties."

Most Magnetic pieces are in the bottom of the can.
After reading a lot of reviews and it saying most of the magnetic parts are in the bottom, I stored my can upside down for a few days before using it. I then applied thin coats and the project turned out awesome...I did my project in sections, but kept the paint can upside down while storing it between sections, again, awesome results

AWESOME!
I almost didn't buy magnetic paint because of the horror stories I read on the reviews. I am so glad I did! I made a 1 foot strip going down my hallway to stick my kids' artwork up on. I planned on spending the whole day on the process, as I read it takes many thin coats. I ended up applying 8 thin coats throughout the day (about 5 minutes a coat and 20-30 minutes between each coat.) It dries fast. It wasn't messy like everyone said. I taped off the area I wanted and didn't see a big difference with applying this and regular indoor paint. I did bring it to a paint store to have it shaken before I began and then I stirred it between every coat. No difficult problems with mixing. My tan paint in the hall covered it well after 3 coats. I have gotten many oohs and aahs over how it turned out. The strip I painted is raised up about a millimeter above the rest of the hall wall, but it is straight because I taped it perfectly before I began. I had no problem covering my textured wall. I love this paint, and would recommend it to others. Don't be scared away by other's comments,

quotes I like, etc
I made a magnetic wall where I could put up photos, children's artwork, quotes I like, etc. It works perfectly. I followed the instructions accurately. I put spackle on the area of the wall I wanted magnetic to take away any wall texture. After letting it cure sufficiently, I applied four coats of MagnaMagic (leaving adequate time for drying in between coats), then applied two coats of the interior paint (one would have covered sufficiently but I added another just for good measure). I can use refrigerator magnets, adhesive magnets, or rare earth magnets and they all adhere well. I was a little apprehensive about this working out like I wanted it to, but I'm so pleased with the results.

This stuff is pretty cool. I was making a chalkboard wall in our basement as part of an art area for my son. I saw this and decided to try and make it a magnetic chalkboard wall. It does work, but you will need really good strong rare earth magnets because it is not a lot of magnetism. I put on probably 6 coats until I ran out of paint. A lot of work, but I don't regret it lol!

It works!
Love it! My painters said it took them about 6 coats to use up the quart can. I bought these little Nivian brand "map magnets" to use on them and they work perfectly. So glad it wasn't a dud. We're just planning on displaying kids artwork and paper on it, nothing heavy. We'll be painting our wall latex paint over it tomorrow after letting it cure for 24 hours per the directions. There are very good instructions on the magna website. I recommend you read them for best results.See my photo for the color of the actual paint. Note it's considered a magnetic primer so you can paint whatever color you want on top of it.

Excellent magnetic primer! Very easy clean up too
This is an excellent magnetic primer. I got a quart and applied around 2 coats on our curved wall and another 2 coats of coverup paint. The result is excellent! If you make any mess, water will clean it up easily (even dried overnight). This is what holds on our wall- standard fridge magnet itself- printer paper/kids easel paper with 1 40ml+ magnetic sheet (at least 1"x2")- 140lb watercolor paper with 3-4 tiny rare earth magnets (1/4 x 1/16 inch)- 80lb drawing paper with 2 tiny rare earth magnets (1/4 x 1/16 inch)Here are my tips to success:- sand the wall if you can, our is semi-textured and curved, still works fine- concentrate the paint in the area you want to use magnets (ie, you don't need to paint up to the corner or edge, feather out the edge and apply more coats in the center)- use strong magnetic sheet or rare earth magnets

Five Stars
Need to use 8 coats minimum but works great. Recommend getting it professionally mixed, and mix regularly during use.

Great Magnetic Primer
This is a really good magnetic primer. One note though. If you are putting this on a wall with the intent of painting a chalkboard over it. The wall must be SMOOTH. Sand it down until there are no ridges left. It will take work and time but the finished product will require this step.Easy to put on.
