BestAir EF1 Kenmore 14906 / Emerson MAF1 Replacement Wick Filter

Headline says it all.Great product.

For an extended life humidifier wick it has performed acceptably. We have hard water but I try to balance that out with water treatment additive. I think this filter is pretty average in it's life expectancy. I've bounced around between brands and I've found some have a very disappointing life before they no longer are effective. Some expensive ones last longer. Then the rest are just average. This one meets my requirements of lasting several months before replacement. It seems to hold it's shape well enough and it still has some absorbancy left.

I purchased this item for my home humidifier. Seemed like a great deal. The part that the manufacture tells you to buy, the OEM part, is 3 times the cost. Now expecting to get some life from this as the last one, the OEM, lasted 3 months, was not too much to ask. Or at least that is what I thought. This one lasted 15 days. Now it could have been due to a lot of factors as this is the coldest it has been in 20 years, so it may be running a bit harder than usual. Now I am not one to complain about much, so I just let this one go. My next purchase on this was another off brand name from a home store and that one has lasted the past 7 weeks so far.

My first filter only lasted about a month do to the very hard water where I live. The original one crusted up with mineral deposits and would not wick up the water. I did not add vinegar as recommended, I do now!This replacement filter seems to work almost as well as the original for a good price. I do think the original filter did work some better, this one doesn't seem to wick up the water quite as fast so the humidifier runs a little longer between cycles. But, for me, the better price was worth the trade off. I would buy it again.

This filter is the BEST By Leaps and Bounds! I like to flip my filter often to keep it fresh. This one has no problem staying up when you do this with the aluminum reinforcement. It is great at wicking. I use these filters in my business and in my home. I will never buy the other ones again!

We have a wood burning stove which kills the humidity in the house. Our old humidifier had spent a few years in the attic at our old house, where it got pretty hot during the summer and the wick was in pretty bad shape. We bought this wick as a replacement, and the difference is like night and day. This works great and puts a lot more water into the air than the old one did. Great product.

I can spend a lot more at home depot than these which are about half the price and these work just as good. They are not quite as "thick" as the ones at home depot but they work just the same and last just as long as far as i can tell. I just wish the life on the filters was a little bit longer than they are. I use the humidifer conditioner but it still only lasts about a month before i have to replace them.

I thought these were basically OEM, so I tried two. Admittedly, if I wrote a review within the 1st week, it would have been 5 stars - that first day, I've never had my humidifier put off so much humidity in a 24-hour period - and at first I thought the metal support was a good thing - but now I think it's to make up for a lesser quality wick that just can't stand up on its own. It also caused a weird blue film on a few parts. After 2 weeks of operation, this wick was hard and crusty and looked like my OEM ones do at the end of an entire winter season. I've since replaced it with an OEM one, and 2 months later it's still going strong - way better than this one.

Excellent filters

Even with the shipping charge, this aftermarket filter was significantly cheaper than buying locally. It looks as good as or better than the original. Will definitely buy again.
