A: Usually vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) is made from lanolin washed from lambs' wool. But this product is extracted from Lichen which is plant based. It is designed especially for the NHS of Scotland to cover all the population's needs. That is why it is also a Halal and Kosher certified.
