Review: Soft... and Firm at the same time. Love it. - Was a little skeptical, but haven't had the best of luck finding pillows I like, as I'm very picky about this. And when I do find them, they never seem to last. I don't like memory foam (too firm). Decided to try some latex pillows and ordered this one along with one other. So figured I'd give this a try and if I didn't like it, just return it. Well it arrived the other day and I LOVE it. It's very malleable. I always spend some of my downtime in bed reading my kindle. So I like to lay on my side when I do this. It works great for that. Head is at the correct height and if I bunch up the pillow just a little, I can be right on the end of the pillow so I can read my kindle that's propped up on the bed. I also sleep on my back a lot. Again, this is working great for that. Constant support throughout the night. It's hard to describe. It is very comfortable and has lots of cushioning. But it also has a firmness to it that supports my head. It doesn't have that pure softness that other pillows have. But that little firmness is what I assume allows it to keep doing it's thing all night long. And that firmness, isn't so firm as to cause issues, just enough to keep things supported. I was hesitant about it... but am so glad I decided to give it a go - worth every penny. Now it'll just be a matter of how long it holds up. Pillows I've had in the past (even expensive ones) rarely lasted longer than ~14 mths, but none of those were latex ones... so will see.

**Q: How firm is this pillow?**
A: I do t think it’s firm. I would say it’s more soft due to the material used. However unlike most soft ones the pillow doesn’t lose its shape or give. We have had one for a couple of years and it still has the original shape.

**Q: Is it machine washable?**
A: There's two parts to the pillow, the inner core and the outer shell. You SHOULD be putting a pillow case over the outer shell like a normal human. But the outer shell is washable so long as you remove the inner core. Inner core is latex foam, outer shell is a zippered case with the hex grid foam incased inside.

Lastly to appreciate the purple pillow you truly need stretchy pillow cases, purple makes their own and I have to say they are as good as the pillow and without them, the pillow doesn't really shine, like your getting 50-75% of what the pillow actually offers.

**Q: Is there any off-gassing? Does it smell weird?**
A: No, it's not a memory foam pillow, Purple Pilows aren't made from any off gassing materials. 

Purple uses a Latex foam core with latex hex grid over cotton outer layers. Latex doesn't off gas, hence why it's one of the few synthetic rubberized compounds used in the medical field.

**Q: Should stomach sleepers get the low profile regardless of body size since the distance from shoulder to neck wont matter too much, or does it matter?**
A: I will say, yes. Just received my expensive pillow, low profile is still too high for me and it caused neck pain. Give up it. I replace it with newentor pillow which can adjustable height and gives me efficient neck & shoulder support. I wake up without neck pain since then.

I tried a lot of different pillows and couldn’t find one that didn’t bother my neck. As a side sleeper I have broad shoulders so I have a hard time finding pillows. I tried a few with shredded memory foam which were comfortable, but they also behave like goose down pillows. After spending over $100 a couple of times for pillows I didn’t like I finally bit the bullet and bought this ridiculously expensive Purple pillow. I like the memory foam, it has a nice support but not too hard. I has a honeycomb cover that helps reduce the heat. It is very comfortable and worth the price. I won’t be looking anymore this is the one. Soft yet not so soft it doesn’t support the neck and head. 4 stars on price, 5 build quality, 5 on looks, 5 on comfort.
