I've tried harnesses, chokers, numerous types of collars and complicated contraptions to 'stop pulling' that have too many straps and nothing helped. I ordered this style because I have heard people talk about it being a good training leash to help discourage pulling.I had my doubts but I slipped this on just below his ears, set the stopper and headed outside. The first lunge didn't jerk my arm and shoulder like he normally did. Zeus stopped. turned and looked at me like I had done something wrong. And I knew I was going to like this leash! The frequency of his pulling has decreased by a good 80% and so has the energy he uses to lunge. It's not a magic cure-all but it has done wonders for us! I no longer dread taking him out.The leash itself is thick and seems to be strong and durable. I'm not worried it's going to snap or that he's going to pull out of my hand. The padded handle is wonderful! The 6-foot length is great because it gives me control with just one hand and still allows me enough room to provide him some distance when he needs to do his business. With this style of leash, I can walk Zeus and my 12-pound terrier at the same time...something I was never able to do before.
