It’s slides easily to close and cover the sand box. The only thing I was not completely happy about was the “chalkboard”. I thought it was an actual chalkboard but it’s just three black boards. You can use the boards and erase with a wet rag but the boards are small. A single board without the spaces would really improve the overall chalkboard. We did customize ours with paint as we live in OK and the sun breaks down everything outside faster than normal. It also didn’t come with a stain or a finished wood that had to be done, and I also added a burn treatment for personal taste, but overall nice product.
