## Overview

The Little Giant CFST 5 Amp Pump Down Control Float Switch is a UL and CSA certified, tethered narrow-angle switch designed for precise liquid level monitoring in sewage and non-potable water systems. Featuring a durable polypropylene housing and 20-foot lead wires, it integrates seamlessly with Little Giant and Franklin Electric control panels to deliver reliable, mercury-free pump control.

## Description

Tethered narrow-angle, normally open control float switch is designed to work with a control panel (not included) with or without an alarm to provide automatic control of a pump in water and sewage effluent applications.Must be used with a control panel such as Little Giant's Simplex and Duplex control panels (not included). Compatible with the following Little Giant and Franklin Electric products:- Little Giant 513258 - 1221W120H6A17A Duplex Indoor/Outdoor Alarm System & Pump Control- Little Giant 513267 - 1121W120H17A Simplex Alarm System/Pump Control- Franklin Electric 515354 - A-SF230CBG-215 Control Panel for IGP manual grinder series- Franklin Electric 515355 - 1026540 Duplex Control Panel- Similar control panels are also acceptable. Specifications: 5.0 Amps, 125/250 VAC, 50/60 Hz. This switch is not recommended for controlling electrical loads less than 100 milliamps, 12 VAC and non-arcing electric loads. Temperature rating: 140°F. UL recognized/CSA certified.

Review: Good as a replacement float - works exactly as required. - I have a 20 year old Orenco float-switch system in my septic tank that triggers a contactor, which runs a pump, that pumps liquid to the sand filter. One of the three mercury switch floats went bad and had to be replaced but you can not get mercury switch floats anymore. This Little Giant mechanical switch was the perfect replacement. The 20' lead cable was more than enough and I cut it shorter to match the length of the wiring harness with the other two floats. I was surprised that it came with a yellow band on the neck as there was no indication in the description that it would ship with a color band. I was expecting it to be all black like the picture. Not a big deal, although in my system yellow would indicate the High Level Alarm, and given the choice, I would have picked red since I'm using it for the Pump Off float replacement. No big deal though and it makes it easier to see when in operation. I wanted a float that had the UL safety approval and this one does. The cheaper floats did not specify any agency approvals. The construction of the float, and the cabling, feel like a quality product. The installation was easy. I followed the spec and left a minimum of 3" of tether length (actually did 3.5"). I did not need the included strap since it was going into the existing Orenco clamps. I did purchase waterproof wire nuts for the installation. I am very pleased with this repair job and how well this Little Giant float switch seamlessly installed into my old system. It has now been running for several weeks without issue. Note that this float switch is not rated for running the pump, it is rated for running the contactor that runs the pump.
