Review: Cup Leather for Pitcher Pump - I ordered this Cup Leather along with the Merrill Mfg. 700LL350 Lower Valve Leather. Together they work great. At first I was confused because the title says "Valve and Cup Leather", but the picture only shows the cup. Indeed, that's what it is, just the cup. So you may need the Lower Valve Leather that I mentioned, too. Very good product. At first the company accidentally shipped me 2 Lower Valve Leathers instead of 1 Cup and 1 Lower Valve Leather. But I called them and they immediately shipped me the Cup. Very good to work with.

**Q: the top of my purchased leather cup dia. is 3" and my pump cylinder measures 2 7/8" in the bore. How do you get 3" into 27/8" cylinder**
A: 1/8" isn't that much.  You be sure to SOAK the leather cup in water a few hrs to a day to soften it before inserting.  Once installed you should have water on it all the time keeping it soft and providing suction to pump your water.....

A: yes it fit my pump and works well

A: Should work mine was fine. I have a pitcher pump. J beason

**Q: what is this for?**
A: This is a leather that goes inside a cylinder to pump water to the surface. There is a point on the bottom, 1-1/4" pipe, cylinder is on this pipe and the valve with the leathers are inside the cylinder which is connected to a 3/8' rod to move valve inside cylinder up and down to suck water to the surface. This was use on the old iron well hand pumps.

I ordered this Cup Leather along with the Merrill Mfg. 700LL350 Lower Valve Leather. Together they work great.
