Fast and reliable connection to my router.
Fast and reliable connection to my router. It is also automatically reconnecting to the router when my Windows 10 PC wakes-up from sleep mode. Other models I have used must be manually told to connect to restore the link. Setup was very easy. I'd highly recommend this unit.

Awsome
I love it. The internet speeds have been a lot faster since I hooked it up to my computer. However I would have have it 5 stars but the design of it doesn't make sense. You have the antennas in the back and then the usb cord in the front why not make them both in the back.

First I would like to say I am a TP-Link fan
First I would like to say I am a TP-Link fan, all my net equipment is TP-Link, I have two C9 Archers and I bough this for a new computer sitting adjacent just to an old one using the T2UH dongle. The T2UH is working fine but when I connected this one I could not get it to connect in a stable way... will be returning and look for another one...Update (you must install the driver):So I missed the return window so I gave it another try as now I have google wifi. I could not get it to work properly, the speeds were 2-3mb with a very strong signal and I have 150mb internet. After I installed the driver on windows it went up to 70mb on the 2.4g and 127m on the 5G so it is acceptable now.Update:I just can't get this device to work properly and hold a stable connection...

When this wifi adapter works its amazing but the windows 10 drivers are a joke
Tldr: When this wifi adapter works its amazing but the windows 10 drivers are a joke.I've been using tp link exclusively for years. I've loved their products reliability and signal quality, unfortunately unless they step up their game fast I will have to switch to someone else for wifi adapters.Alright so I ordered this to replace the T4uh adapter because I thought it was dying on me, it would constantly lose connection, and even go so far as to disconnect from windows forcing me to unplug it and plug it back in. Unfortunately the T4uhp (this adapter) has the exact same problem.I have tried a fresh install of windows, different USB ports, multiple versions of drivers, installing drivers directly from the chip maker, all of this has failed me horribly. The adapter just keeps cutting out and disconnecting from windows. I am lucky that I also have a powerline setup so I have a fallback in case my wifi goes out while I'm away from my computer so I can still access my plex library but this is ridiculous. As things stand right now I cannot encourage anyone to buy this product.

Not as fast as previous model - perhaps driver issues?
This is my third TP-Link USB wifi adapter (I also own TP-Link switches and routers).I think there is something off with the drivers for this adapter (v1 161213 at the time of this review). The installation did not go smoothly - I had to unplug the adapter to get the installer to finish. Re-plugged, it worked, but here are the throughput rates I am getting:TP-WN722N (802.11 a/b/g/n adapter) - inconsistent throughput as high as 30mbps, as low as <1mpbsTP Archer T2UH (AC 600 adapter) - consistent 100mbpsTP Archer T4UHP (AC 1300) - consistent 25mbpsThroughput rating were all taken within a few minutes of each other on the same desktop with the adapters in the same location and the antennae adjusted similarly. The AP is a TP-Link Archer C9 (AC 1900). My internet connection is 100mbps, so it is possible the T2UH would do higher thoughput.I generally like TP-Link products and have had good experiences with them. It is possible they will update the driver and this adapter will perform better in the long run, but it isn't worth upgrading from the T2UH at this time. Also note that only the T4UHP required a driver update on Windows 10.I did see about 30-40% more SSIDs with the T4UHP than I did with the other two (which showed the same number of SSIDs) so I suspect the antenna array (there are two) does provider better reception.

Five Stars
Slightly faster than my old $20 USB AC600 adapter (on Spectrum 100/10)...

Range extender? maybe...
instant increase of 20-40mbps, great sensitivity

Nice little WiFi adapter. Speeds are decent, included software seems useless.
This is a nice, handy little WiFI adapter. It’s really easy to use and set up: screw the antennas onto the back of the base, plug in the cables. Under Windows 10 I didn’t have to install any drivers. I just plugged the cable into one of my USB 3.0 ports and that was it. My eldest son did have to install the driver from the CD to allow his Windows 10 laptop to recognize the adapter.Because of its size, number of parts, and actual base, this isn't something you'd be taking around to the library or coffee shop, unless you plan on staying there for a long time. I see this more of something you'd use plugged into, say, a home theater system PC. When screwing the antennas into the base, make sure they're snug, and if you need to rotate the antennas do so in a clockwise direction, otherwise the antennas will unscrew.Installing the TP-Link driver on the CD didn’t result in any noticeable performance improvements. The TP-Link Wireless Network Utility (also on the included CD) didn’t impress me, either. It apparently didn’t recognize the adapter, as on launch it kept prompting me to attach a wireless adapter (nevermind that the adapter itself was working fine and providing WiFi access!).There is Linux support for this, kind of. You can download a driver from TP-Link, but rather than providing a binary for the common Linux distributions they provide the source code--you have to compile it yourself. I attempted to compile this, and got an error: one of the headers included with the TP-Link driver redefines something in a header file included from somewhere else. Rather than try to sort it out I just went onto Github and downloaded a project (rtl8812AU) for the chip used by the adapter. It compiled and installed with no issues. Our wireless router is downstairs in the family room, so to run some speed tests I went upstairs into the master bedroom, about as far away as I could get. I found that while this adapter gave better reception (more bars), transfer speeds were slower compared to my laptop’s built-in WiFi adapter and antennas. With built-in WiFi: 16 Mbits down, 3 up. With this USB adapter 4-5.6 Mbits down, 3 up. Downstairs (closer to the router) this USB adapter gave me about 12 Mbits down, 3 up, compared to 28 Mbits down, 3 up for the built-in WiFi.Package contains 3’ USB 3.0 cable, WiFi unit, two antennas, a driver CD, and some paper inserts.
