I picked up the Ryobi ONE+ Multi-Tool to replace a cheap multi-tool I’d been using for a while, and the difference is amazing. The build quality feels much sturdier right out of the box, and it runs a lot smoother with noticeably less vibration. The variable speed control is great for dialling in the right power depending on the job — cutting chipboard, trimming door frames, or sanding down old frames. One of the biggest perks is that it’s part of the ONE+ system, so it runs on the same batteries as the rest of my Ryobi tools. Battery life has been solid. As a Ryobi fan, I was really excited to try this. I recently used it for cutting skirting boards while installing a floor-to-ceiling cabinet, and it handled the job perfectly. The power and precision were spot on, and I didn’t experience the clutch mechanism issues that some other reviewers mentioned. It seemed to work smoothly even under what i'd call quite a bit of pressure. That said, the blade change mechanism could definitely be improved upon, as it's not as versatile and easy as some other budget brands. With this, you're unscrewing bolts etc, which can be a bit fiddly and time-consuming. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it’s an area where Ryobi could make an improvement. The real standout feature for me, though, is the compatibility with their battery system. Being able to use the same battery across all my Ryobi tools is a game-changer. Overall I'd say this is worth purchasing if you need a good reliable multitool, especially if you're already invested in other Ryobi tools.
