Apogee Duet USB & iPad Audio Interface Breakout Box

I love the Apogee Duet USB and iPad Audio Interface. I think it's absolutely fantastic.However, I think that this breakout box is way overpriced. I think it should either be included with the product or offered as a replacement when the original breakout cable eventually wears and breaks, or there should at least be a rebate of some sort. On this topic, why is the warranty on these (great) products so short and useless? Does this company not believe in their very strong and popular products? Is Apogee Electronics in arrears or something? Why do they feel the need to nickel-and-dime their customers? Could it be that they charge so much for this particular product just because they can?It also only offers XLR out, as opposed to the 1/4" out on the breakout cable, so it won't replace the breakout cable in situations where XLR doesn't get you there.On the plus side, the included cable is nice and long, which allows for more flexibility than the original cable.

Very well built; connections are all rock solid. Bumps the duet up another step on the 'professional grade' scale. Having the XLR outputs and the ability to put your connections away from your IO itself is great. I keep the breakout box under my desk and have only the included IO cable running to the duet and it really cuts down on the cable clutter. Also way easier to take the duet to use on the go. By leaving this breakout box plugged in and taking the breakout cable that came with it I don't have to unplug my entire system everytime I want to go somewhere. Really a great add on.

If you have a studio and you have the Apogee Duet then the breakout box is worth it. When you buy the Apogee Duet it comes with the pigtail cables. I use them with my iPad or when I'm on other remote sessions, but when I'm at the house recording tracks and vocals I like the convenience of the the breakout box, it's very simple to use and in the studio it just makes it easier.

This box is a lot heavier and more durable than I thought it would be. For weeks I have moved this box back and forth from 1 room to another everyday and used it in live situations and it is and has not given up on me. Apogee you are great and this break out box is testament

I have a very limited amount of space on my desk and I'm in the process of purchasing a workstation. I loved the way this breakout box works in my setup. It's really easy to use and hide behind the desk.

If you own the Apogee Duet 2, then this should also be a purchase for a small home studio setup. It's clutter free and gives you extra ports. It's nothing but awesome!

The breakout cables were messy and flopped all over the place! This really gets the clutter off of my work desk! Even thinking about buying another for my smaller project studio!

Great apogee product as usual. Makes my set up sound better than the provided duet split cable. No more 1/4 inch all xlr yay!
