Review: Excellent Form, Function and Appearance for the Cost - Ok, there is a lot to unpack when it comes to some of the negative things that others have had to say in regards to these tiles. The one thing that most people do not seem to understand is that tiles like this ARE NOT SOUND BLOCKING! They are meant only to absorb echoes in an environment. In my case, these were installed with the idea of toning down the room a bit. I run a couple of industrial lasers that require supporting equipment like a water chiller, air compressor and more than one fume extraction fans. All combined add up quickly decibel wise and the tiles do an excellent job of quieting the environment just by removing the echoes so I only hear the original source of the noise and not it bouncing off everything else and hitting my ears milliseconds later. These tiles are not a “Silver Bullet”, but they are darn close. I have tried other sound dampening tiles and found them to be inferior in performance and a pain in the *ss to install with the sub-par adhesive squares that come with them, and just plain look like crap (I have a whole contractor’s garbage bag full of them now because they are that bad). The foam on these was a bit odoriferous at first, but dissipated quickly. Expansion of the tiles after removing them from the vacuum packs was almost instantaneous and were usable within 3-5 minutes and the density is far superior to other tiles I have tried. For installing these, I DID NOT use adhesive or tape. Since they were going over drywall the most secure way that I found to mount them was using a pair of Lineman’s pliers to push in 1” long round top blued nails (5 per tile). They are invisible once seated unless you look for them and they do not compress the foam and distort, thus degrade the function of, the tiles like staples from a staple gun will. Using the nails also made it exceedingly easy to remove the tiles for repositioning when needed due to installer error ;-) For my first installation, I covered the ceiling of the area where my machinery that makes the most noise resides. The floor was then covered with ¾” thick rubber stall mats which are also great for deadening noise reflections (echoes). Some have commented that my current 12’ X 11’ area is creepy in the fact that once they enter it, the normal echoes that we are all used to hearing almost disappear (this can cause discomfort/disorientation for some since they are something the brain uses for spatial cues). Would I buy these again, absolutely! Actually I already did, I’m just waiting for them to arrive so I can start installing them in the rest of the Shop ;-) Yes, I did get some dud tiles (mashed due to the manufacturing process, packing, whatever) as others mentioned, I just set these aside and used them when partial tiles were called for. In the end, it worked out just fine and the loss due to defective tiles was minimal at best (no tiles were a total loss). Just the tiles on the ceiling alone made an immediate difference, when coupled with the flooring the effect was far beyond my expectations! I cannot wait to tile the other two thirds of the ceilings when the rest of the tiles I ordered arrive.
Review: Surprised at how effective these are. - When you first get them, it’s important to open them up and to shake them out a little bit. You see people telling you to soak them in water and to do all the stuff you don’t have to do any of that! That’s annoying and I wouldn’t give it five stars if it made me do laundry with it lol. You just unpack them because they are vacuum packed, and you shake them out you could stretch him a little bit. You can beat them with a paint mixing stick whatever floats your boat. and I laid them out all over the floor in a very haphazard style and I just aimed a fan at them so that air would be forced through them and I don’t think it took an hour and they were already normal size ready to use! There is no waiting a day for them to dry and put them on racks and all this other stuff that you read about on half these pages. I have purchased acoustic panels before and I have done the same thing. I am not watching these things and letting them sit out there and doing all this work. Not that I’m lazy, but I didn’t see the reason for it if I needed it after then I would’ve done it, but I didn’t need to do it. they don’t appear to be too thick, but it doesn’t seem to affect their usefulness and effectiveness. They’re very soft and they’re probably 2 1/2 inches thick. It’s very easy to install them and I have decibel meters and I tested them because I was using them in the home theater system that was downstairs right underneath the kitchen and dining room. So I needed to know how much sound was going through both ways to be honest. And it cut down on the sound coming from the kitchen so much so that I couldn’t tell when people were in it. Something you should know is that it’s a very busy kitchen. It’s very noisy and it has solid wood floors, and I have the home theater system, and the home theater man cave directly underneath it. So the cracking of the floor, the heels on the floor, the footsteps things being dropped. Things being moved in the dining room all wood floors, no padding between me and them and I can’t tell when the activity level is at an all-time high which normally I can it’s enough to wake the dead!! I use the and his squares. I don’t know if it came with them because I don’t remember now because I bought so many different ones, but I bought the most of these. So I had a piece of squares left over and I bought them separately as well. They seem like they wouldn’t work very well when you first peel the plastic off them but once you get the plastic off and you apply pressure to them, these adhesive squares are ridiculously effective. Make sure you clean the area they’re about to go because obviously they won’t cling to dust and I have them attached to wooden joists and have zero problem with them staying put. I layered the ceiling with them and the noise reduction is easily average about 42% which is incredible. At the price these are even if you find that you need more of them you can just stack them on top of each other for a dual thickness, but I don’t think you’ll need it. It depends upon your actual needs. I know that these block out everything very well except for base/ bass. AutoCorrect lol a base isn’t something you can locate with your ears meaning if you have a proper set up and you have a subwoofer, people can hear the base, but they won’t know where a subwoofer is same thing in traffic when you hear a car that has a lot of bass in it. You don’t know which car it is. You look around for the car that has the crazy rims or the tinted windows and then you figure that must be it, but you can’t really tell which car it is. If every car around you had tinted windows and rims you would have no idea where it was coming from so bass is tricky. But in the direction I was worried about it seems to get no complaints and I’m not the one who keeps the base on maximum, but I was very surprised that it worked both ways. And it worked even better to keep the sound out of my home theater man cave.!!!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can it be used in a deer stand that has carpet on the walls? And will it stick to the carpet on the wall?**
A: These wouldn’t be good for that. They need a spray adhesive that wouldn’t stick well to carpet. Look into mass loaded vinyl- might be a better option.

**Q: Can it be used outdoors and installed on stucco walls?**
A: Hi, Thanks for your asking! It is usually installed indoors. They are more often used to soften echos and sound waves within the room they are placed.

**Q: I living one the ground floor and hear every in the hallway will this reduce the noise coming in?**
A: Hi, Thanks for you asking! These are not meant to block sound but rather absorb some of the natural reverb of a room. They may help some but will not eliminate outside sound completely. Hope you can understand!

**Q: Would it dampen noise from coming in?**
A: Thanks for your asking! Our sound panels are mostly meant to diffuse the sound within a room, not prevent sound from escaping. It can reduce some noise coming from outside, but cannot 100% eliminate the sound. And the effect depends on many factors: How loud is the noise? How close is the noise? How many you used? So I would recommend start with one order, see how it works and if you need more get more.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ My honest review
*by @***M on April 9, 2026*

Honestly most of mine came pretty good. I was worried about the reviews I saw sain most of them came unusable but only 3 are thin but still usable. Only giving 4 stars cause of the 3 that are thin but besides tha everything else is really good! No adhesive so you gotta buy them separately which I don’t mind honestly. It’s pretty good with blocking reflections and sound dampening. I expect the installation to be easy since ima use nails instead of adhesive which will fall quick. Overall my experience with these are great so far. I’d recommend them, it’s just Russian Roulette as you can tell by the reviews, you’ll either get a good pack like mine or a very bad unusable pack like some have said. You have no way of knowing which sucks but thankfully I got a good, useable pack!
