One is standard Channel one is forward and back and channel 2 is left and right on the joystick. mode 2 is differential steering for channel 1 and 2 (or 3&4 if you set that up) This is where you would set up a tracked or "Skid steer" control. if things seem to be spinning the wrong direction make sure to just change the direction your motors spin instead of trying to re-program the controller as you would normally.
