I used it on a piece of pewter. I'm not sure that it removes scratches, but it does remove black oxidation.. It does brighten the item so that the scratches are less visible. As with all polishing clothes, use the polishing cloth first, then buffiing cloth second. Hope this helps! **Q: How to use buffing and polishing cloth, difference?** A: I haven't used this in years, but I remember that it worked very well. I believe the directions are on the envelope.
