Q: Will it keep water with ice cold for 16 hours?

I tested before answering. It has been over 16 hours. There are still ice cubes in the water.

Q: Straw doesn't work when straw lid is closed Why?

I think you mean it doesn't work when the lid is screwed on all the way and if this is your question just snip a little of the straw off its too long and is hitting the bottom of the cup not allowing liquid to go up the straw.
